Concept Note

The first National Policy on Edudation (NPE) was promulgated in

1968 and the second was in 1986 . In 2019 , MHRD released a draft "

New Education Policy 2019. On 29th July, 2020, the Cabinet

approved NEP with an aim to introduce several changes to the

existing Indian education system. This policy is an extensive

document that covers all aspects of education from elementary to

University level and even adult education in both rural and urban

India. NEP-20, envisions an India centric education system that

contributes directly to transforming our Nation sustainably into an

equitable and vibrant knowledge society by providing high

quality education to all.

College Details:Bir Bikram Memorial College (formerly Bir Bikram Evening College), Agartala, Tripura, India was established on 19th

August 1969 and started its new journey on 26th December, 2002 by shifting its establishment to a new location at

college tilla, in the premises of Old Tripura University building with a new name Bir Bikram Memorial College to fullfil

the need of the hour. With the change of its location, the college was converted to a co-education college from the

same year. The Institution has been started with its name, location and time of teaching - learning and has been

expanding qualitatively and quantitatively at a moderate rate without turning its soul and spirit. The ultimate aim of

the college is  to impart exclusively higher education to all irrespective of caste , creed and gender inculcating highest

human values and professionalism .
