by Chris Henry, ManagerWhat is the mostcommon questionwe hear in theCollege Store? It’s, “How do I getmy books?” Wehear it all the timeand it’s a questionwe’re happy toanswer. You can alwayscome to the CollegeStore in person. Weare open expandedhours. For the firstweek of classes, hours are:Wednesday andThursday - 8 a.m. to7 p.m.; Friday - 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Saturday 10a.m. to 2 p.m.You should come to the rear entrance of the College Store withyou schedule and your SCCC photo ID. If you don’t have aprinted copy of your schedule you can print a copy at eitherentrance of the College Store.Once in the store an associate will take your schedule and fillyour book order from it. This ensures that you get the coursematerials chosen for that course by your instructor. If you have a student account (financial aid) you should checkyour balance through Banner under account information to makesure your account is ready. However, if you’re not sure how todo this, we’ll help you with that too. Show your SCCC photo IDwith your schedule and we’ll verify your account is active andlet you know your balance. The College Store also accepts mostother forms of payment for all course materials as well. Visa,MasterCard, Discover, cash and checks are accepted. Not able to get to the College Store right away? You can alwaysplace an order online. Visit our web site at www.fsa.college-store.com. Orders can be placed 24/7. All orders will beprocessed within 48 hours (usually less). You have all the samechoices online as you do within the store including new, used, rental and E-books. You can pay for your order by credit card or student account andarrange “pick-up” or delivery (all fees and charges will be listedon your order). The College Store has arranged a special pick up

area for the first two week of classes. We have moved into theStudent Activity Forum to handle the increased volume of onlineorders being picked up. The Activity Forum is open the sameexpanded hour as the College Store. The second most common question we hear in the CollegeStore is, “Do I need an SCCC photo ID?”Yes, all students should have an SCCC photo ID. Your photo IDshould be carried with you whenever you are on campus. TheCollege Store issues all SCCC photo ID cards. Your first ID isfree. ID cards remain the same from semester to semester. Eachacademic year a new validation sticker is issued. To get your first photo ID you should bring your schedule and agovernment issued photo ID ( a driver’s license) to the ActivityForum where you will be issued an ID. (Photo process and cardcreation takesabout fourminutes.) If youhave an old ID thatneeds to be revali-dated, simply bringyour ID and acurrent copy ofyour schedule anda new validationsticker will beissued. Anyreplacements of aphoto ID cost $10.What’s new in theCollege Store thissemester?Along with ourusual line ofclothing in newstyles and colors,we have brought insome great newgift items includingbackpacks andbags, accessoriesand water bottles. The study revealed it was a deep but small underground ice vault thatwas built for the preservation and storage of perishable foods forresidents of the household. Artifacts indicated that the vault wasconstructed sometime during the early 1800s, but it was eventuallyabandoned, filled and buried during the first quarter of the 20th centurywhen refrigeration became available.
