About MeI am of the opinion that it is alwI am of the opinion that it is always good to begin at the beginning: I can still remember the first computer I built. I was 10 years old and the computer was a Cyrix 486 with 40Mhz, 256K of L2 Cache RAM, running Windows for WorWorkgroups 3.11. Since that time I have added web certifications, programming certifications, IT support certifications, and a degree in psychology to my resume; but I can still look back to that first computer and see the beginnings of my lof my love of technology and web design embodied in that simple collection of boards, transistors, and circuits.

About My SkillsBeyond the general areas of IT support and web design, I specialize in optimizing websites for search engines, social media marketing, and network setup and administration. I have a wealth of knowedge to contribe in the area of managed solutions (i.e. Constant managed solutions (i.e. Constant Contact, HootSuite, RingCentral, Dropbox, Evernote, PayPal, Amazon, Skype, etc...)

In the 21st century is it absolutely imperative for your website to be accessible and easily navigable on a myriad of devices and platforms. Some businesses have solved this problem by creating a website for every type of device. A better approach would be to build one website that makes use of a fluid grid layout in order to offer a customized user experience for each kind of device. This can be accomplished using CSS3, HTML5, and Javascript/JQuery to change the layout and appearance of a page dynamically as it is being resized across different devices. The framework I use to do this is called Bootstrap. If you are looking to bring your website out of the 90's and into the 21st century, then I am the person to get the job done!

There has been an evolution in internet video over the past few years from an on-demand oriented online experience to a live streaming, up-to-the-minute interface. I have experience with all of the technologies necessary to bring live streaming to your business: A/V eqipment (camera, mic, wiring), streaming software packages (Adobe Flash Encoder, Wirecast, Microsoft Expression Encoder), and CDN streaming platforms (Limelight and Brightcove).

As a small business owner (Insight PC Solutions) I setup literally hundreds of SOHO networks in companies across the metroplex. At my current position I programmed an entire Cisco multi-VLAN network that included 3 managed switches, 3 unified WAPs, and a multi-WAN router. I am about to finish the Sybex Network+ book and take the Comptia exam.

Video Editing I have quite a bit of experience using Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 to cut clips, add transitions, complete color corrections, and make simple audio adjustments.

I don't have any certifications or classes in the Microsoft Office Suite, but my experience goes way beyond a general understanding of the individual programs. I can complete advanced calculations in Excel, create and download templates for Word, create animated Powerpoint slideshows that play automatically from a CD, and have an exhaustive knowledge of the setup and maintenance of email accounts in Outlook (Exchange, IMAP, POP3, Calendars, Tasks, etc ... ).

At my current position it was tasked to me to setup a more secure web server and DB server. I used the hosting services of a company called Softlayer to provide the bare metal rigs. I customized the hardware and software packages that were installed on the servers. I migrated all of the data from the older Windows 2003 servers that we were using onto the new servers. Finally, I redirected all of the domain names to the new servers and setup all of the sub-domains on the new servers.

It is always my goal to educate those that I support. It has been my experience that tech support tickets can be minimized by showing the general staff how to complete simple tasks that can drastically impact their system performance. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Phoenix and am very comfortable talking with and educating employees.

I have used many managed platforms to accomplish marketing in the internet age. Chief among those is Constant Contact, Phone Tree, Google Adwords, and Facebook. I can setup a registration with Constant Contact that collects contact info for people that want to sign up for your event; then use that information to send email updates about the event, send automated phone calls or texts in case event times have changed, or create event groups on Facebook to allow inter-attendee communication about the event.

I don't know about you, but it always seems like virus removal becomes a repetitive task. It might be that a PC technician can get your system work again, but the virus just shows back up a week later. This is because the technician understands how to remove the virus but not how to keep the virus from re-installing. It is important to address the underlying vulnerability that led to the virus in the first place, so that the infection doesn't resurface later. To fix PC vulnerabilities a technician must have a larger understanding of the Windows registry, configuration files, NTFS security permissions, and anti-virus software. I have the knowledge necessary to not only remove viruses, but to keep them from ever resurfacing.
