IntroductionThis presentation has been prepared to identify sustainability requirements in the Middle East and in particular Dubai. The presentation considers climate particular Dubai. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)


USGBC, EHS & Emirates GBCThe United States Green Building Council currently control the LEED certification process for projects in Dubai.

The Emirates Green Building Council is currently reviewing The Emirates Green Building Council is currently reviewing LEED credits and have adjusted the credits to suit the Middle East construction industry and climate conditions. Pilot version 1 has been released.


LEEDLEED is controlled by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) it is an assessment method for benchmarking buildings with respect to sustainability and environmental buildings with respect to sustainability and environmental design. Projects are registered with the USGBC online and the LEED assessment process is undertaken in two stages design and construction stage submittals After stages, design and construction stage submittals. After project registration credits/prerequisites are distributed to each team member online & LEED APs facilitate this process. Design team members are responsible for various credit template/submittal completions.
