    Childcare Class of 2011/12

There were mixed emotions when anumber of our Childcare traineesleft us in November.

Their successes in terms ofqualifications achieved andemployment gained was offset bythe end of a journey that has been apositive experience for both the girlsand their tutor, Joanne Stewart.Joanne joined Impact Training in2011 as a Childcare tutor afterspending 10 years in the EarlyYears Care industry and explains:The girls, enrolled in 2011/12,were the very first class I had evertaken; it was as much a newexperience for me as it was forthem. In those early days we wereboth finding our feet, me as a newtutor and the girls undertakingqualifications in a new andunfamiliar environment after leavingschool. I realised very early howfortunate I was to have such a greatgroup of girls to work with. It wouldbe fair to say that in those earlydays we were all working togetherand helping each other to build

confidence. I have been privilegedto teach these girls at ImpactTraining and see them develop intoconfident young women and all fullydeserving of their achievements andsuccesses.

been the willingness of localemployers to offer full timeemployment to all of them. This hasenabled the girls to continue withtheir studies and progress onto theL3 Apprenticeship programme.

Joanne and the rest of the staff at

Impact will miss this special group ofgirls.

Comments made by the girls duringexit interviews confirm their time atImpact has been well spent:
