OverviewBigData–thegreatvolume,velocityandvarietyofavailabledatathatcanbeobtainedtoday–isthecurrentbuzzwordinbusiness,promisingthediscoveryofnewvalueandopportunitiesandtheoptimizationofprocesses.However,theproperimplementationofBigDataeffortsremainsahugechallenge:thehighdegreeofmanagementanddecision-makingskillsneededtosortthroughcomplexdataandthescarcityofBigDataandbusinessanalyticsprofessionalsareonlysomeofthehurdlesbusinessesfaceontheirwaytousingBigDatatotheirutmostadvantage.
