COMMUNICATIONS Announcements
The Minoan Seminar is being established in Athens and Crete by
Greek and foreign scholars to provide a regular forum in which
aspects of Minoan archaeology can be discussed. Seminars will
address current problems in the field as well as presenting new
discoveries for discussion. Suggestions, comments, and inquiries
should be sent Colin Macdonald (e-mail: [email protected]) or
Lefteris Platon (e-mail: [email protected]). The title of the
first seminar in this series is listed below in Past Lectures and

On 31 May 2004 abstracts are due for an International Symposium
on Foreign Relations and Diplomacy in the Ancient World: Egypt,
Greece, Near East, to be held on 3-5 December 2004, hosted by the
Department of Mediterranean Studies of the University of the Aegean
(Rhodes, Greece). The Symposium will address foreign relations,
diplomatic affairs, and cross-cultural interaction between Egypt,
Greece, and the Near East from the 3rd millennium BC to the Arabic
conquest of Egypt (637 AD). Presentations and conference
proceedings will be in English. Abstracts (500 words maximum,
including name, affiliation, and full contact address) and requests
