(Rev 2:20-24) Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that

woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my

servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she

repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he

which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your

works. But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine,

and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other

burden.

Rome referred to as Babylon (18:21)

In his book, Catholicism and Fundamentalism, Catholic apologist Karl Keating writes: "Babylon is a code word for Rome. It is used that way six times in the last book of the Bible [so he acknowledges that the woman in Rev 17 is Rome!] Sibylling Oracles (5, 159Q, the Apocalypse of Baruch (ii, 1), and Esdras (3:1). Eusebius Pamphilius, writing about 303, noted that ...Peter ...referred to [Rome] figuratively as Babylon [in 1 Pe 5:13]." The Bible often addresses a person or city under another name. For example, Jerusalem is called "Sodom and Egypt" (Rev 11:8) and Satan is addressed as the king of Babylon in Isaiah 14 and as the prince of Tyrus in Ezekiel 28.

A city on 7 hills (Rev 17:9)

Page 19: Biblical Church History

Babylon was not built on

seven hills, nor does it meet any of the other identifying criteria. Rome, however, was and has universally been known as the city of seven hills. The Catholic Encyclopedia states: "It is within the city of Rome, called the city of seven hills, that the entire area of Vatican State proper is now confined."

Museum, minted at Tarraco in 71 A.D. during the reign of Vespasian (69-79 A.D.), declaring

him to be the Pontifex Maximus (a title assumed by the papacy), which depicts the city of Rome as both the goddess Dea-Roma seated on 7 hills, and a she-wolf suckling Romulus and

Remus (just above the R in ROMA).

On the12th of March 2000, during the Papal Apology Mass, the pope and other

members of the Roman Catholic priesthood wore various shades of

violet/purple because it also occurred during the Catholic festival of Lent,

when the color of purple is traditionally worn.

Page 24: Biblical Church History

Priests of the Catholic Church regularly wear red vestments on Good Friday, Palm Sunday, Pentecost,

Birthday Feasts of the Apostles and Evangelists, and the Feasts of Martyrs. Purple vestments are worn on Advent, Lent, and at Funerals, although other colors are optional

on some of those days. Other approved colors are white, green, black and rose and gold. A distinctive

(Exo 28:3-4) And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise

hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they

may make Aaron's garments to consecrate him, that he may

minister unto me in the priest's office. And these are the

garments which they shall make; a breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a broidered coat, a

mitre, and a girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may

minister unto me in the priest's office.

(Exo 28:5-8) And they shall take gold, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen. And they

shall make the ephod of gold, of blue, and of purple, of scarlet, and

fine twined linen, with cunning work. It shall have the two shoulderpieces

thereof joined at the two edges thereof; and so it shall be joined

together. And the curious girdle of the ephod, which is upon it, shall be of the same, according to the work thereof; even of gold, of blue, and

purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.

Page 29: Biblical Church History

(Exo 28:31) And thou shalt make the robe of the ephod

all of blue.(Exo 39:1-2) And of the blue, and purple, and scarlet, they made cloths of service, to do service in the holy place, and made the holy garments for

Aaron; as the LORD commanded Moses. And he

made the ephod of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and

fine twined linen.

(Eze 1:26) And above the firmament that was over their

heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon

there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the

appearance of the likeness of a throne.

It is understood that the tablets of the Ten Commandments were cut from the clear blue sapphire seen on mount Sinai (Exo 24:10&12) This seen because of Numbers 15:38-39.

that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations,

and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue:

And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and

remember all the commandments of the LORD,

and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own

The most respected of the ecclesiastical symbols, the tiara, or

triregno, is also a symbol of the pope's authority over the Church.

No one knows for certain when the tiara originated, and it has

undergone many changes since it first appeared at the Papal Court.

The tiara comprises three separate crowns, or diadems. The bottom

crown appeared in the ninth century as ornamentation at the

base of the mitre.    When pontiffs assumed the

temporal role of sovereign princes, they further adorned the base

decorations with the jeweled crown of the princes of the time. The

second crown was added by Pope Boniface VIII in A.D. 1298 to

represent his spiritual dominion. By A.D. 1315, the triregno appears in

the documentation of the Papal Treasury.

The fabulous treasure of Lourdes (France) whose existence was kept secret by the catholic Church for 120 years, has

been unveiled… Rumours have been circulating for decades about a priceless collection of gold chalices,

diamond-studded crucifixes, silver and precious stones..After an indiscreet remark by their press

spokesman this week, church authorities agreed to reveal part of the collection…(some) floor to ceiling casca were opened to reveal 59 solid gold chalices alongside rings,

crucifixes, statues and heavy gold broaches, many encrusted with precious stones. Almost hidden by the

other treasures is the “Crown” of Notre Dame de Lourdes, made by a Paris goldsmith in 1876 and studded with

diamonds. Church authorities say they cannot put a value on the collection. “I have no idea” says Father Pierre-Marie Charriez..”It is of inestimable value” Across the road is a

building housing hundreds of (antique) ecclesiastical garments, robes, miters, and sashes-many in heavy gold

thread…The European, April 9-12, 1992

Hundreds of world leaders attended the funeral, reported to be the largest such gathering in world history, including 4 kings, 5 queens, 70 presidents and prime ministers, and 14 leaders of other religions. Over 4 million pilgrims arrived in Rome, a city with 3 million residents. The funeral likely had the world's largest TV audience for any event, exceeding 2 billion viewers.

From the leading 19th century Catholic professor of church history, Dollinger…

The view of the church had been..(that) every departure from the teaching of the Church…must be punished with death and the most

cruel of deaths, by fire…Both the initiation and carrying out of this…must be ascribed to the

Popes alone…who compelled bishops and priests to condemn heretics to torture,

confiscation of their goods, imprisonment, and death, and to enforce the execution of this

sentence on the civil authorities, under pain of excommunication.

dare proclaim principles of equality; they maintain that all Christians are brethern and that God has not given to privileged men the right of ruling the

nations; they hold that Christ came on earth to abolish slavery; they call the people to liberty, that is to the annihilation of kings and priest…Turn your
