It is an annual inter collegiate, techno-cultural festival that has gained immense popularity in recent years. It has become a must-attend event for aspiring students who would like to explore their potential and exhibit their talent .Bhavanotsav is a great platform that promises healthy competition and promotes holistic development and team spirit amongst the students. The program was inaugurated by the Hon. Director, Col.M.Vijay Rao, Principal, Prof.Y.Ashok and the Bhavanotsav Co-ordinator, Mrs.Saraswathi Devi. This was followed by a short cultural programme. There were around 40 formal and informal competitions held by various Departments of the college. A panoramic overview of the events is as follows. The Department of Mass Communications under the banner “FRAMES” invited entries for short films, photography and RJ hunt. There were around 100 entries for the events. The events conducted under MEDHA - Department of Management were the selection of the Young Manager and Business Quiz. Participants faced three rounds of quantitative, verbal analytical, statistical and situational questions followed by a stress interview. Mr. Mohak from Aurora College won the coveted prize and was adjudged as the Young Manager of the event. The Department of Physics and Electronics invited poster presentations (theme industrial electronics) and micro presentations on the (theme: - optical phenomenon) Students participated enthusiastically in the ‘ASYMPTOTE’ online test and LAN games conducted by Department of computer science. There was a good response for greENERGY competitions conducted by life sciences Department. The Department of commerce (DISHA) organized several events to test the business acumen of students. Mock Stock exchange, Business Simulation, IPL Bidding, FUNNY ads were some of the events that received overwhelming response from the students.

Bhasha Tarang (Languages Department) organized imaginative competitions Masti Melange, CROSSoch and SONGaana that were well received by the students. Elocution competition on the topic “INTERNET IS MAKING COPY CATS” was conducted in English, Hindi and Telugu The cultural events of music and dance organized by KALASANGAM – Xpressionz club enthralled the audience with their brilliant performances. The young audience was treated to some soulful, melodious music and interplay of classical, contemporary and fusion dance forms. There was also a special section the COSMOS for international students. They had a quiz and a special cultural show ‘The Spectacle‘ that showcased the culture of their native countries. Bhavya – the women cell organized special events like Warli pot painting and the Women Entrepreneur (Poster Session). This time many new categories had been introduced like the – Doodle Art, Quilling Art, Face Painting, Anthakshari, Collage and so on. The Bhavanites did a splendid job hosting and participating in all the events. There were around 350 volunteers including the NSS & NCC students. Mr. Sushanth was the star attraction from Tollywood who enhanced the glamour of the festival. He impressed the young audience with his grace and style. The program ended on a high note with the valedictory function. Amidst applause and appreciation, winners of the various events were awarded prizes and certificates. The programme was a grand success as around 4000 students participated from 72 colleges and made the program a grand success.

A Report on Languages Day Celebration-2015
Bhavan’s Vivekananda College celebrated its Language’s Day on December 9 ,2015 with
great enthusiasm. The program started with a prayer in Sanskrit. The Language
department had conducted a series of competitions viz; story writing, jam session, power
point presentation, crossoch (word puzzle) in English, Hindi and Telugu languages. The
Sanskrit section conducted events in singing, recitation and counting numbers. The
French section organized a fun based event “Try Trouver”- Treasure hunt.
Principal, Prof. Y. Ashok stressed the importance of languages in the curriculum and
advised the students to gain proficiency in languages and not to view them just as a means
of scoring marks.
Dr. Kameswari, HOD also spoke elaborately in her report about the innovative teaching
methods and practices that are being introduced to make the language classes more
interactive and student friendly.
An interesting quiz event “Guestymology” based on English loan words became an instant
hit with the student audience. The program also included a medley of songs in various
languages offered by the college.
The program ended with the prize distribution ceremony. The Principal awarded prizes
