Office is partially computerized, having 12 computers. Software like S.Soft, ERP Tally are used
for accounting. Library is fully computerised. The library functions and services are fully
computerized with LIBSYS Software (College Edition). Library activities like Acquisition,
Cataloguing, Circulation, Periodicals, Stock Verification and OPAC are performed with the help
of computers. Barcode Printer and Scanners are used in Circulation Section and for stock
verification.
Library has Internet connection with 2 Mbps Speed. Staff and students can access the internet
during the working hours of the library. The Library is a member of INFLIBNET’s N-LIST E-
Resources Consortium.

Munshiji’s Vision, Our Vision:
Develop the College as a center in which ancient learning and intellectual aspirations of
the land might combine to create new history, new literature and new culture.
Education, as Bharatiya Vidya must follow the lines of our own culture. This culture is
not a mere matter of religion, nor a particular social system, nor a philosophy by itself; it
is a way of life.
Bhavan’s Education must teach all to read the heart of our religion, our society, our
philosophy, politics, literature, jurisprudence, Science, thoughts, everything that was and
is ours.
Munshiji’s Vision, Our Mission:
Translating Munshiji’s ideas of ‘Bharatiya Vidya’ into reality is the mission of each one
of us in the College.
To develop a holistic personality through education which is in view of the Bhavan, is
both modern and traditional.
To provide Creative Education as an art of self-sculpture

6.3.2 Teaching and Learning
6.3.3 Examination and Evaluation
1. Apart from conventional teaching methods, staff members use various participatory and interactive methods for effective teaching learning.
2. Debates, Group Discussions, Open Book tests and library sessions are conducted for better understanding of the subjects.
3. There is an increasing trend towards use of ICT in teaching learning. Teachers in the self financing courses, Commerce, Microbiology, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology regularly make use of PPT presentations in regular classes.
4. Several Arts like History, Hindi, Geography, BMM, Departments make use of Audio-Visual Aids such as screening of documentaries and Films.
5. An exhibition “Amalgam” is organized by Self Financing Courses like BMS, BMM, B.Sc. (Comp. Sc.) and B.Sc. (B.T.). Exhibits relating to current trends in Photography, Marketing, Biotechnology and software are put up.
6. Several departments (BMM, B.Sc. IT, BMS, B.Sc. Comp. Sc., Chemistry, Botany, History, Economics, Geography etc. Organize Industrial visits and Educational tours.
7. Political Science department conducts Mock Election Exercise. 8. Teachers provide notes, reference books, web-links, to students for enhanced
learning. 9. Teachers also make use of Social Media Platform (Facebook, Whatsapp to connect and
provide information to the students. 10. Need based remedial classes and extra classes are engaged by some departments for
weak students.
There is a limited scope for college to conduct examinations and evaluation, as examinations
are planned and controlled by University. However, on departmental level, certain evaluation
exercises are conducted.
1. Departments take periodic class tests and tutorials.
2. Spot tests and Open Book tests are conducted by some teachers.
3. Projects are given to FY and SY students in Foundation Course, which is a part of internal assessment. Self Financing Courses also have projects relating to understanding cinema, sociology, reporting etc. TY students in Arts also have a project component.
4. Students are asked to write reports on the Industrial Visits and Educational tours which they have attended.
5. Some departments encourage students and research scholars to write research papers and to present the same in seminars and conferences.

6.3.5 Library, ICT and physical infrastructure / instrumentation
1. Many staff members are actively engaged in research by means of writing research papers, major and minor projects and guiding research students at Post graduate level and doctoral research.
2. Staff members are members of academic and professional bodies and organizations. They attend research conferences and seminars to know about and to contribute to the latest knowledge in the subject.
3. Teaching staff from Microbiology, Hindi, Botany, Chemistry are engaged in Major or minor projects funded by University, Industry or government.
4. Research guidance is provided to students through RCMC. Teachers and students from BMS and Microbiology have recently completed their Ph.D. programme.
5. Bhavan’s Research Centre carries out research and development activities in collaboration with Industry. Students are also encouraged for creative and analytical thinking to provide robust solutions for industrial needs.
6. Some staff members from Microbiology, Zoology provide consultancy services to Industry, Government or other organizations.
7. Students are encouraged to participate in the University level research competition “Aavishkar”.
8. RCMC (Research and Consultancy Monitoring Committee) of the College has taken initiative to promote Research and Consultancy in the College. One-day workshop was held to guide staff members for research registering for patents.
1. Library
College library has a collection about 60000 books, which include text books and reference books. As the library is a member of “N-LIST” consortium, additional 97000 e-books and 6000 e- journals are accessible. There are 78 journals and magazines subscribed by the College library. Library is fully computerised, with the help of LIBSYS software. Students can access the collection, using OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue).
Visually Challenged students can use JAWS (Job Access with Speech) to avail library services.

Strengths of the Institute
1. Very large, green and pollution-free campus, which provides conducive environment of teaching and learning.
2. Due to adequate open space availability, there is ample scope for further expansion in the infrastructure and courses.
3. A healthy mix of students from different cultural backgrounds and religions.
4. Larger number of women and minority students.
5. A well-equipped library and computer centre for access to internet.
6. Several teachers who are highly qualified and experienced, having research knowledge.
7. Good rapport between students and teachers.
8. Industry oriented research encouraged in the science departments.
9. Varied subject combinations offered in Arts subjects.
Challenges faced by the Institute in future
1. Infrastructure has to be expanded for accommodating new courses and increasing number of students.
2. Building, furniture, laboratories and equipment are old which need to be regularly maintained or changed. Upgradation into modern infrastructure is urgently needed.
3. More industry-oriented subjects or skill development courses need to be started.
4. Many students are from economically poor background and from vernacular medium.
5. Many teaching posts and vacant and CHB staff needs to be appointed. Lack of Full time qualified teachers affects the teaching.
6. Alumni Association needs to be strengthened.
7. More placement activities and campus interviews need to be organized.
8. Pure sciences face a challenge of reducing student strength. Students need to be motivated to study pure sciences.
