THE BLINKING LIGHT
Matthew 7:1-2
Do not judge, or you too will be
judged. For in the same way you
judge others, you will be judged,
and with the measure you use, it
will be measured to you.Judge not?
Really?
Why This Topic?
“Don’t Judge Me!” is a distraction from wrongdoing
Many Christian’s are Confused
We Need a Better Understanding Who are you to judge?
CAUTION: JUDGE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
“Judge Not” is Not a Prohibition.
But it is a serious warning to take care
how we judge others.
CAUTION: JUDGE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
“Why do you see the speck that is in your
brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is
in your own eye? Or how can you say to your
brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your
eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye?
You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will
see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.” (Matthew 7:3–5)
CAUTION: JUDGE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
• Not Wrong to Want to Help
• Judgement is Serious
• Judge Like Christ
HOW WILL WE BE JUDGED & BY WHO?
Who will judge us?
God or man?
Hmmm . . .

For in the same way you judge
others, you will be judged, and
with the measure you use, it will
be measured to you.
HOW WILL WE BE JUDGED & BY WHO?
Will we be judged by God?
I thought we were forgiven?
John 5:24
Very truly I tell you, whoever hears
my word and believes him who sent
me has eternal life and will not be
judged but has crossed over from
death to life.
HOW WILL WE BE JUDGED & BY WHO?
Judged by peers!
If not God, then it must be other people!
If you judge someone, they will judge you the
same way. Here are some examples:
• You’re fat – Oh yeah!
• Stupid decision - Oh yeah!
• Your late - Oh yeah!
• You reap what you sow!
WHAT MUST WE NOT JUDGE?
We are not the judge and jury!
Do NOT pass judgement!
Romans 14:4 - Who are you to judge
someone else’s servant? To their own
master, servants stand or fall. And they
will stand, for the Lord is able to make
them stand.

Prisoner’s Story
OTHER THINGS TO NOT JUDGE#3 – Status, Position, or Wealth
We must NOT show favoritism! James 2:3-7
If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” have you not discriminated among yourselves
and become judges with evil thoughts?
OTHER THINGS TO NOT JUDGE#3 – Status, Position, or Wealth
Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court? Are they not the ones who are blaspheming the noble name of him to whom you belong?
OTHER THINGS TO NOT JUDGE#4 – Adherence to the Bible
If they were real Christians they would not . . .
Romans 14:3
The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them.

Two Reasons:
1. We do the same things! Romans 2:1
You, therefore, have no excuse, you
who pass judgment on someone else,
for at whatever point you judge another,
you are condemning yourself, because
you who pass judgment do the same
things.
WHY SHOULD WE NOT JUDGE?
Two Reasons:
1. We do the same things! Romans 2:1
2. We do NOT have all the facts!
