Statement of Need: This course will review for learners the most
significant presentations made over the course of the year in
scientific journals and national conferences with a focus on the
following oncologic subsites: CNS; Central Nervous System;
Gynecology; Head and Neck; Pediatrics; Thoracic; Gastrointestinal;
Lymphoma; and Breast. Through lecture and panel discussion from
disease site specialists this course will engage attendees in the
review of important updates, new technologies and best practices in
the fields of Radiation Oncology. All Northwell Health CME
activities are intended to improve patient care, safety and
outcomes.
Program Objectives: All Northwell Health CME activities are
intended to improve patient care, safety and outcomes. At the
conclusion of this conference participants should be able to:
– Review highlights and important abstracts from 2020national
meeting.
– Summarize current and evolving treatment optionsfor various
malignancies including central nervoussystem, breast and
gynecologic, head and neck, thoracic,genitourinary,
gastrointestinal and hematologic.
– Identify various on-going oncology and radiation
oncologyclinical trials that are available to cancer patients
andhypothesize about the impact on patient care and outcomes.
– Develop a team based best practice paradigm toavoid
inconsistencies and variations in the evaluation,management and
treatment of patients.
– Incorporate best practice treatments of Radiation
Oncologyacross all disciplines and settings.
Joint Accreditation Statement: In support of improving patient
care, Northwell Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation
Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation
Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses
Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for
the healthcare team.
Target Audience: MDs; PAs; NPs; RNs and those clinicians within
the specialties of radiation oncology, medical oncology, surigcal
oncology, physics and dosimetry.
Credit Designation Statements
Physicians: Northwell Health designates this live activity for a
maximum of 6.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should
claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their
participation in the activity.
Nurses: Northwell Health designates this activity for 6.25 ANCC
contact hours.
Physician Assistants: Northwell Health has been authorized by
the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME
credit for activities planned in accordance
with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 6.25
AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PAs should only claim credit
commensurate with the extent of their participation.
Verification of Attendance: Will be provided to all
professionals.
American Board of Radiology Credit: This activity has been
approved by ABR for 2.0 Medical Physics SAM Credits and 6.25
Radiation Oncology SAM Credits.American Society of Radiologic
Technologists (ASRT): This activity has been approved by the ASRT
for 4.75 Category A credits.
Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB): This activity
has been approved by MDCB for 6.5 Category A credits.Commission on
Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs (CAMPEP):

Registration fee includes CME/Verification certificates, course

Cancellation Policy: To receive a refund, all cancellations must
be confirmed in writing to the Office of Continuing Medical
Education by Friday, December 25th, 2020. An administrative fee of
$5 will be kept for all cancellations. No refunds will be made
after this date or for “no-shows.”
