Contact [email protected] TRUANT (Nordia 55) Summer Refit Detail #2 As part of painting the superstructure the teak deck margins boards have been carefully routered away to remove the teak, but leave the ply sub deck intact; prior to this templates of the mar- gin boards were taken with Mylar sheeting (as you can see through it), then the profiles are transferred to make plywood templates for production of new teak margins to be fitted on completion. This is fairly detailed work taking care not to damage the snapes of the remaining planking. This is the recommended process for a repaint after corrosion control (see aluminium coach-roof substrate) to allow the newly painted surface to extend below the new teak margin board to reduce/ delay recurrence of corrosion. Contact [email protected] Windy Owners’ Rally 2010 Spirits remained high at this year’s Windy Owners Rally despite some wet weather conditions. Following a reception hosted in the historical buildings at Berthon, the 15 boats set off for The Island Sailing Club in Cowes for a BBQ and evening of boating yarns! Contact: [email protected] Berthon Tankard at the Sweden Yachts Regatta Cowes was the venue for this great event, organised by Sweden Yacht Owners for Sweden Yacht owners, where everyone had fun both on and off the water. Berthon yacht broker Alan McIlroy presented the winner with a Berthon Tankard, and we’re looking forward to supporting the Regatta in 2011.
