Short description Within this project, the motorway M51 was built between the E45 in Sønderjylland (Southern Jutland) and Alssund, in order to create a structureenhancing and efficient connection. For this project, the Kliplev Motorway Group (KMG) assigned a european construction company in a socalled public privatepartnership for the construc tion of the motorway. This newly built motorway was erected between 20112012, has a total length of about 28 km and was realized between Kliplev in the west and Sønderborg in the east. Overall, two lanes on each side were completed. Besides the construction of the motorway, seven interchanges as well as ten crossing municipal connection roads with a total length of 18 km had to be built. Additionally, numerous offsite facilities had to be newly established or modified to the changed structure. Also, eleven roundabouts and one distributor ring were constructed within this project. Due to the high existing complexity and a stipulated construction period of about two years, it was necessary to ensure a troublefree timing and high quality requirements on the structural engineering, the security and the project documentation. To support supervisory tasks and construction supervision the client placed the order with the Ingenieurbuero Dr.Ing. Olaf Schulz. Ingenieurbüro Dr.Ing.
