Water: Use a side-to-side motion and then slightly blend the strokes. Erase to create bright reflections.
Wood: Use lines or hatching to create rough look or wood grain.
Trees/Leaves: Use short, quick marks to create illusion of clumps of leaves. Build up values with shading.
