grew 215% from 2012 to 2013

ü  In the first five months of 2014, 28.2 million phones were sold, 8 % more than the same period in 2013. The data is from IDC expert advice and were analyzed by Abinee .

ü  Of this total, 69% were appliances (19.5 million) that ran an operating system, able to download apps and more refined than traditional models , called “feature phones”. Traditional models accounted for 41 %.

ü  In May 2014, the proportion of smartphones has advanced and reached 76% of total sales .
