Last month the City of San Antonio adjusted all the auto-
matic timers on our islands sprinklers to conform to the
current Stage 2 water restrictions that we are currently
under. They indicated that residents should not hook-up
sprinklers to island faucets and water out of cycle as the
Association can be liable to warnings and fines. Under
stage 2, hand watering is fine and if a resident wishes to
hand water an island they can do so. Please help us
conform to the City’s request.
Committee Sign Up
At our annual meeting we asked residents who were
interested in serving Bel Meade to sign up to par-
ticipate on one of our committees. The committees
are listed in this newsletter and if you have not
signed up but would like to serve on a committee
please contact one of our Board members. We still
need to fill some of our committees, so don’t be
bashful—we can use you!
Safety and Security
Our neighborhood continues to be a very safe neighbor-
hood. We have noticed, however, that some cars (some
are residents some aren’t) are driving too fast on our
streets. We ask that you be careful as kids are still out of
school and many of our residents walk, some at night.
Please drive slowly and keep a watchful eye out. Also,
we have seen cars running our stop signs. This is very
dangerous and can lead to an accident. Although we are
a quiet neighborhood, we must obey all road signs. We
have contacted the Constable’s office and they indicated
they will be assigning more patrols through our
neighborhood and may station patrol cars (or unmarked
cars) at intersections.
Please obey speed limits and stop signs.
Architectural Changes to Your Home
Please remember: if you are planning to make any architec-
tural change to your home or property such as buildings,
fences, walls, pools, landscaping, house painting, new drive-way or walkway, house additions of any size, storage build-
ings or sheds, greenhouses, major landscaping projects, solar
panels, wind turbines, rain water harvesting systems, etc, they need to be approved by the Architectural Review Committee
(a.k.a ARC) prior to work being commenced.
Please refer to your Declaration of Covenants, Conditions
and Restrictions, for information on what can and should
be approved.
If you have any questions, contact the Architectural
Review Committee

Lazy-Day Peach Tart Take a casual approach to home-made peach pie. This free-form tart starts with refrigerated piecrust and doesn't even use a pie tin.
Directions:
1. Let the piecrust stand at room temperature according to package directions; unfold. Line a large baking sheet with foil and lightly flour. Place pastry on the prepared baking sheet and roll to a 14 x 11-inch oval.
2. In a large mixing bowl stir together granulated sugar, flour, and nutmeg. Stir in peaches and lemon juice. Spoon peach mixture onto pastry, leaving a 2-inch border. Fold pastry border up and over peaches, folding edges gently as needed. Combine egg and water. Brush egg mixture onto the top and sides of the crust.
3. Bake in a 375 degree F oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until the crust is golden. If necessary, cover top crust with foil for the last 10 to 15 minutes of baking to prevent overbrowning. Cool for 30 minutes on the baking sheet. Sprinkle edges with powdered sugar, if desired. Serve warm with sweetened whipped cream, if desired. Makes 8 servings.
Ingredients 1/2 of a 15-ounce package folded refrigerated unbaked piecrust (1 crust) 1/4 cup granulated sugar 4 teaspoons all-purpose flour 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 3 cups sliced peeled peaches 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 beaten egg 1 tablespoon water Powdered sugar (optional) Sweetened whipped cream (optional)
