Pictured here: Clips from the December 20th community holiday event. The Bryant Joseph Christmas in the Community event began as a small gathering to help keep alive the legacy of former DISD middle school principal Joseph Bryant. He served as principal at Fred F. Florence Middle School where he turned the school from unacceptable academic status to exemplary academic status in three years. The New Orleans native’s life was cut short after suffering a heart attack. Bryan’s motto “It takes a village to raise a child” continues to live through this community event.

Around the department:
Holiday Cheer
Inmate Programs celebrated
the holidays with an Ugly
Sweater Day. Officer Love was
the winner of the contest
(pictured in the bold orange

was an appetizing spiral glazed
ham. Congratulations!
TxDOT Sober Ride Campaign
The Sober Ride Sleigh limousine made a stop by the Frank Crowley Courts Building, wrapped like a huge holiday gift. It is a reminder for drivers to avoid drinking and driving during the holidays, a TxDOT statewide campaign. Chief Marian Brown and Sgt. Julie Martin took to the streets on board the vehicle in Dallas.
