We are looking at materials and their properties of a range of materials. Last week you had a look around your home for different materials
and their uses.
You investigated the bounciest ball!
This week we would like you to investigate which fabric is the stretchiest! How far can you stretch the fabric?
With permission find different materials and design an experiment to see how far the material can stretch.
For example: A raspberry – what colour is it? What does it taste like?
List 5 fruits and describe them.
Challenge: Can you use alliteration? ( the words in your sentence start with the same letter)

Today we are dividing by 10.
Practice counting in 10s from 0 and then back again.
Can you group the objects into groups of 10? You will need to count how many group you have.
1. Circle all the multiples of 10 on a hundred square. What do you notice? Can you explain the pattern?
2. How many groups of 10 in 70?
3. How many groups of 10 in 40?
4. How many groups of 10 in 50?
5. How many groups of 10 in 90?
6.I have 70p in my pocket made up of 10p coins. How many coins do I have? Draw a picture to prove your answer.

ICT: This half term we will learning about CODING. This all about computer programming. You have been set the ‘ToDo’ on Purple Mash for
the programme ‘Fun with Fish’ .
Click on the ToDo and see if you can move the fish around the screen. You’ll need to think about direction – left, right, up, down. Also think
about how far you want he fish to move. Instructions need to be clear!
If you can’t get on Purple Mash can you write a set on simple instructions to get a member of your family to a place in your house?! You
might need to say “ 1 step to the right, 4 steps forward” Good luck!

Main: You have generated new vocabulary based on the poem A Rainbow of Fruit Flavours. Today you are going to plan your own poem and write your poem – this can be about anything. A suggestion could be your favourite animal.
1. Decide what animal you will feature in your poem 2. Make a list if effective adjectives you could use to describe it 3. Make a list of appropriate verbs ( bounding, running, scampering) 4. Use the structure of the poem A Rainbow of Fruit Flavours’
Maths: Division : Warm up - Can you set a timer for 2 minutes and record as many ways as you can to make 10? Check through your calculations. Set the timer again for 2 minutes – can you beat your previous score? Main: Yesterday we learnt about dividing by 10. Today we will be learning about odd and even number. Could you find some socks? Can you pair them up? That means put them into groups of 2?
Count how many socks you have – if you have an even number they will go into pairs . If you have an odd number of socks they won’t go into pairs. Even numbers are 0,2,4,6,8. Odd number are 1,3,5,7,9. Answer the questions below:
1. A bike shop buys 14 wheels. Each bike needs to 2 wheels. How many bikes can they make? Are there any wheels left over?
2. The bike shop then buys 17 wheels. Each bike needs 2 wheels. How many bikes can they make? Are there any wheels left over?
3. Sort these number into a group of odd number snad a group of even numbers :
15, 17, 22, 35, 47,46,3,98, 52
Explain how you know if they are odd or even.
4. Share 23 sweets between 2 children. How many sweets each ? How many left over??
