Bring yourfavorite football snacks and cheer for your favorite team. Dinner Club will be 02/05/20. The kitchen staff has a wonderful mealplanned for us, so please join us if you can. The Divan Ladies will be hosting a couples’ Valentine’s Paint andDinner Party on 02/08/20. The cost will be $65 per couple. As the ladies have said, “While the catsare away, the mice will play!” If you are unfamiliar with the mysterydinners, the host will select a restaurant and keep it secret. Everyonewho wants to attend will meet at the temple at the appointed time, andNoble Starkey will lead the way to the restaurant of his choice. Let’skeep Noble Starkey in our thoughts as he will be responsible for theDivan Ladies for the evening. He will need our support! As NobleStarkey makes his restaurant decisions, we will provide informationrelated to the cost. IHop Day is scheduled for 02/25/20. Let’s go and support ourOriental Guide Jeremy Schuler as he hosts this event. Remember, 100%of the proceeds from this event go directly to Shriners’ Hospitals. Message from Chief Rabban: This year is off and running as we recently held the Installation of Officers. We then turned around and went right into the Bedouin Classic. Regardlessof a little weather, the games were well attended and exciting – we evenhad a heart-stopping buzzer beater for a Championship win! What awonderful way to end the Classic. We would also like to thank all the Nobleswho worked endlessly and the Ladies who worked the hospitality rooms andprovided the tasty desserts…you Ladies really out did yourselves! Now, look forward to our first Dinner Club on of the year on February 5th.The Potentate and Lady Sharon will have a wonderful Valentines dinner forall! Until next time, Remember why we do what we do – FOR THE LOVE OFOUR KIDS!

I would like to thank everyone who came out to support the basketballball classic! Everyone from the Classic committee to the nobles and ladies inthe kitchen feeding everyone, your time and work is very appreciated! I alsowant to let everyone know that After 5 is still going strong. It’s everyThursday at the temple. It’s nobles only, so you nobles that don’t haveanything going on, come to the temple on Thursday evening and see Mark“Shooter” Maples and Scottie “Goodtimes” Goodman. They are the best twobartenders in town. In closing, if you know a noble that hasn’t been aroundin awhile, call them, bring them to a dinner club, or After 5. Lets all together, try to get people back involved, and have a good time taking care of ourchildren.

Nobles and Ladies: Greetings from Pittsburg County.
First I would like to thank BK Smith for his intervention for us with the Great Architect. BK got us some beautiful parading weather for the Christmas Pa-rades. Thank you BK. The Pittsburg Club will be holding our annual Salute To Our Ladies with a Valentines' Dinner at the Elks Club in McAlester on February 11. Menu will be steak, baked potatoes, veggies, and salad. Cost is $21.00 per person. A no host bar will be available. In our sickness and distress: Robert Padgett is still trying to recover from his many surgeries that he has suffered from an accident he suf-fered at home. Al Barnett has recovered nicely from surgery on his knee. Gary Palmer is recovering from surgery on his ankle. Charles Thurber has recovered from his many bouts with doctors. Please keep these brothers in your prayers. Also, let's remember our many men and women in our armed forces. They are more precious than they are given credit for.
Peace and Harmony be with you. Dave "Mouse" Bruno
We had our meeting at Belle Starr on January 8, 2020. No members of the Divan were there at our request because they were busy with the Basketball Classic. All we were going to do was talk about was this years planning anyway. Josheb English was happy opening the meeting as our new president. Our last year's president, Jim Mansfield, was happy to be at the meeting as just a member, as he had been our president for the past few years. We are hoping to have a golf tournament this year. If we can't, we will still have the summer cooler. There have been 5 Nobles to ask us to have the sum-mer cooler even if the golf tournament didn't happen. Past Potentate, Jerry Davidson and Lady Susie were in attendance. Our next meeting will be February 12, 2020 at Belle Starr. We would like to have the McIntosh County Nobles attend.

I want to say thank you to every Lady who helped with the Classic, from hosting the hospitality rooms to providing desserts, and every-thing in between. There is no way all the work could be done without your help. I appreciate all your support. And I give a very special thank you to Brenda Fisher, Missy Griffith, Pat Foster, and Kathleen Fletcher for their help in the kitchen. They are amazing! As Chisel stated in his article, we have lots going on in February. Clean Up Day on the 1st, Super Bowl on the 2nd, and Dinner Club on the 5th. Lady Kathleen has put together a wonderful Valentines’ Paint and Dinner Party for the 8th and then our Mystery Dinner on the 22nd. It all sounds like so much fun, except maybe for the cleaning! But that needs to be done too. March will be busy too with the Wine Festival and the Glow Run. Lady Debbie and Lady Pat will need our help with both of these events. They will be reaching out to you soon with information on these. On April 17th and 18th, Lady Pat will be hosting a garage sale at the temple. The proceeds from this event will be shared between the kitch-en fund and the van fund. Please consider what you can donate for the sale and how you could help during the sale. Lady Pat will be accepting items for the garage sale now through that time and storing them at her house. Let’s make this a very successful event! We are posting more and more information on the Ladies’ Facebook Page. If you know of any Lady who is not a member of the page, please let me know so we can either get them added or make arrangements to keep them updated with information in another way. Thanks again for all you do and for remaining committed to the cause!
Lady Sharon Ross
Interesting Protocol Tidbits - At organizational events, such as dinner club, ladies stand for the flag presentation and prayers but not when the Potentate is announced. The only time we as ladies should stand when the Potentate is announced is when he is escorting his lady.
