When Bear woke up he felt great. When Bear woke up he felt great.

Today was his birthday! Outside the sun was shining. Today was his birthday! Outside the sun was shining.

A perfect day for a picnic. He could not wait to call his A perfect day for a picnic. He could not wait to call his friends.friends.

Bear called his friends to go for a birthday picnic. But nobody was home. ”Hmmm, where could everybody be?” thought Bear.

Bear thought for a moment. He was afraid that his friends were in trouble and needed rescuing.

He set off on an adventure to find out where they were.

Bear’s funny friend, Duck, lived just down the path.

Bear decided to go by there first. He hiked through a forest of tall green grass to Duck’s

house.

Bear got to Duck’s house, but nobody was home.“Hmmm,” thought Bear, “where could Duck be?”

Bear set off again in search of his friends.

Bear was getting worried about them.

He had already forgot that it was his birthday.

Bear stopped at Squirrel’s tree. But there was no sign of squirrel. “Hmmm,” thought Bear, “where could Squirrel be?”

Bear left Squirrel’s tree in a hurry. He was even more worried now. He quickly climbed the fence thatblocked the path to Goldi Bear’s house.

Bear was out

of breath from rushing to find his friends.

He

decided to slow down to smell the flowers.

That’s where he found his friend Bee.

Bear asked Bee if he had seen his friends. Bee explained he saw Bear’s friends a half hour ago and pointed Bear in their direction.Bear thanked Bee for the help and continued on.

It was only a short way now. Bear hopped on a train. He was excited to finally catch up with his friends.

He could not wait to start playing.

The train was fast! Bear arrived at Goldi Bear’s house to find the the door open and the lights off.

Bear walked into the house. Suddenly, all the lights came on and his friends all yelled,

“Surprise!”

Wow! Bear couldn’t believe it. His friends had planned a surprise party for him.

Bear hugged his friends as they laughed at the trick they played on Bear.

They drank tea and played games.

Bear was having a wonderful time.

It turned out to be the best birthday ever!
