The Rebels have outscored the Bulldogs a combined 154-0 over the last three meetings. Bearden’s last touchdown against Maryville came on Sept. 30, 2011. Bearden has been shut out 10 times overall since 2003, five of those have been by Maryville. Maryville’s 95 points allowed through the first five games of the season are the most by the Rebels since they allowed 97 in 2012. Due to recent district realignment, tonight’s game will be Bearden’s first time playing at Maryville since 2013. Over the course of Bearden’s 10 game losing streak to Maryville, the Bulldog have averaged 4.6 points per game, while the Rebels have averaged 38.4. Bearden freshman quarterback Collin Ironside’s 597 yards passing and six touchdowns are both records for a Bearden freshman at the varsity level. LAST MEETING Sept. 25, 2015 Maryville scored touchdowns on its first four possessions and won its 36 th consecutive game, 41-0 over Bearden. Maryville running back Jordan Ervin rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns in his first game back from injury to lead the Rebels. A five-yard touchdown run from Ervin got Maryville on the board first and after a Kelby Brook 26- yard scoring reception paired with two touchdown runs from Austin Ensley, the Rebels stormed out to a 27-0 first half lead. After jumping out in front, the Rebels made a few uncharacteristic mistakes, dropping passes and missing a field goal. Maryville however cleaned up their game in the second half to preserve the shutout, scoring on the second play of the third quarter to extend the lead to 34- 0 and put the game away. The Rebel defense held Bearden quarterback Cameron Jones to a season low of just 15 yards passing and also intercepted him once. SERIES INFO Maryville owns a 17-2-1 all-time series lead over Bearden.
