by Habana Cuba. These stogies are handcrafted only with the finest aged

tobaccos for a smooth and spicy smoke that’s as easy on your palate as it is on your wallet. And if stronger smokes are

your thing, try the equally-affordable Bella Torres Nicaraguan Selection,

which is made entirely with Cuban-seed Nicaraguan tobaccos

for a richer, zestier smoke.

When we worked out the details for our very first collaboration with Camacho, we knew we could expect something awesome. Even still, we were all wowed when we opened our first shipment of San Marco. These stogies are made with Honduran-grown Sumatra wrapper tobacco and an interior blend from both Davidoff and Camacho, culminating in a rich, nutty, smooth smoke with a burn and draw that could rival sticks twice as expensive. If you crave toasty, balanced, medium-bodied smokes, you can’t get much better than San Marco—especially for as low as $3.40 a stick.

When most people think of Macanudo, words like “strong,” “peppery,” and “powerhouse” don’t generally come to mind. Well, Macanudo Crü Royale is a different kind of Macanudo. Sporting a darker wrapper and a much spicier, richer flavor profile than its Connecticut-wrapped predecessors, these stogies will satisfy any lover of fuller-bodied stogies.

Some companies throw years into their cigar names as a marketing gimmick. That’s not the case, though, with Macanudo Vintage 1997; the Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper leaves used in these robust stogies are actually 14 years old! Well-constructed and fitted with metal “bands,” these chocolaty, peppery, nearly-black stogies truly redefine “maduro.”

Originally created in 1840 in Cuba, Punch was named after Mr. Punch of the famous Punch and Judy puppet show. Now made in Honduras under the close supervision of Frank Llaneza, Punch is a different kind of strong cigar. Named for the farm in Honduras on which its wrapper tobacco was cultivated, the CAO OSA Sol is simultaneously silky and piquant. These handmade Hondurans boast flavors of roasted nuts, caramel, and leather, along with a hint of fiery spice that reminds you that you’re smoking something truly unique.

As its name and brazen packaging might suggest, CAO Italia is made with tobacco from Italy. In particular, the filler contains a unique, Cuban-seed tobacco from the Benevenuto region. When combined with a hand-selected blend of South and Central American tobaccos, these tobaccos provide notes of cocoa, coffee, baking spice, and caramel while exhibiting a knockout burn and effortless draw.

Earning its name from the two nearly-black maduro wrapper leaves that hold in its carefully-selected, four-nation filler blend, the CAO Mx2 is a maduro lover’s delight. Made with leaves from Tabacalera Perdomo’s 2004 crop, Perdomo Grand Cru is a truly elegant cigar. These Nicaraguan beauties are available in three different equally-delicious wrapper shades and exude coffee, leather, and rich tobacco flavors with a variety of different nuances, depending on which wrapper shade you choose.

As the name might suggest, Habano is Tabacalera Perdomo’s robust, Cuban-style offering. These toasty, powerful stogies are made with Connecticut, Corojo, or maduro wrapper leaves and filled with tobacco from the Condega, Esteli, and Jalapa regions of Nicaragua. Perdomo Habano is truly one of the most balanced strong cigars available.

Perdomo Exhibición is one of the Nicaraguan manufacturer’s greatest undertakings yet. Named for his childhood home, these well-rolled stogies feature an oily, reddish Havana Subido wrapper and zesty Nicaraguan binder and filler for a medium-to-full-bodied smoke with notes of nuts, red pepper, and black coffee.

Blended only with the finest Nicaraguan-grown Criollo- and Corojo-seed leaves, Curivari is a true standout in the boutique cigar world. Blended by Omar Ortez, these stogies pack bold flavors of chocolate, coffee, leather, and a hefty \dose of pepper, all the while exhibiting a great burn and fluid, generous draw. Don’t let the name fool you — these are far from your typical Don Diegos.

After creating countless successful blends of his own, Don Jose “Pepin” Garcia worked with his son, Jaime Garcia, to create the Series JJ. These spicy, balanced stogies flaunt bold notes of chocolate, leather, and pepper, and are handmade in Miami by expert torcedores to ensure that the highest standards of quality are met.

If there was ever a candidate for “Smoothest Stogie in the Universe,” it would be Ted’s Made by Hand Connecticut. These ultra-silky stogies are rolled with a three-country blend, culminating in a buttery smoke with notes of sweet cream, light cedar, and a hint of milk chocolate, staying mellow from start to finish without even the slightest hint of harshness or bite.

As far as Altadis releases go, Trinidad Habana Reserve has managed to stay somewhat under the radar. We’re not sure why, because these are seriously some of the tastiest smokes around, offering up flavors of leather and caramel with just enough red pepper spice. On top of that, they hold shockingly long ashes and burn straight from start to finish. In short, if you haven’t tried these, you are missing out!
