SCOPING THE BOBCATSLast Time OutMontana State capped a wild weekend of basketball in the Fieldhouse by winning its second straight overtime game against a team ahead of it in the Big Sky stand-ings, holding on for a thrilling 91-90 victory over Eastern Washington. Harald Frey and Tyler Hall scored 19 points each to lead the Bobcats, while Sam Neumann snared 11 rebounds, his second straight double-digit game. MSU survived a desparation buzzer-beating three to send the game to OT, and also Jacob Wiley’s remarkable 34-point game.
The Long RoadMontana State entered last week’s road trip with an 11-game losing streak away from Bozeman, and returned to the Gallatin Valley with a two-game weekend sweep for the fi rst time in two seasons. Bobcat Liner Notes The Cats played two Pac 12 schools on the road this year, with home games against teams from the MAC, Horizon, Summit, Sun Belt and Colonial
Montana State’s 17 home games in 2016-17 is the program’s most since 1995-96, when the Cats also played 17 - although two of them were Big Sky Tournament contests
Tyler Hall’s 32 points at Washington State was the second-most ever by a Bob-cat in a season opener

MSU’s home win over Idaho marked the team’s fi rst victory when trailing at the fi ve-minute mark, and its fi rst win when shooting a worse percentage from the fi eld than its opponent
In 95 minutes of basketball in their two regular season meetings in 2016-17, the Cats and Idaho were separated by a single point (MSU scored 175, UI 174)
MSU’s fi rst loss this season in which the team led at the fi ve-minute mark of regulation was at Idaho, and the team’s fi rst win when trailing with fi ve minutes left in regulation was Idaho at home
