What’s Next? College: Resumes and Essays

Prepare a High School Resume – detail all sports, clubs, jobs, volunteer work, awards that you have been involved in/accomplished during your high school years.

Essays – Research colleges you are interested in to see what essays they require. Be creative (remember admissions offices/scholarship committees read thousands of these each year).

Use Your Family Connection account (See your counselor for login info if you do not remember it) to find out info on colleges, financial aid, career search

Transcript request process is detailed on website and will be done using Family Connection during your Senior year

Transcript Request Process

1. Log in to your Family Connection account2. Request Transcript(s): click on Colleges; click on

Transcripts; Select Admission Type (Early, Regular, Rolling); choose school and click submit. You can do this for multiple schools at a time.

3. Apply to your college(s) through their websites.4. Bring $2 per school to Counseling Center secretaries,

along with any school required paperwork (i.e. Secondary School Reports).

5. You will then be done and able to see whether things have been sent out through family connection.
