(note: rooftop green-spaces are private for units fronting onto them). 2+ Bedrooms 2 bedroom unit The first residential tall building constructed in Paris since the 1970s, Bâtiment Home is designed as a response to the need for new vertical housing. The spiral design of the building which creates the impression of rotating floors works to create a wide range of unit types and sizes usually not associated with tall residential buildings. The complex is made up of a four-storey base with two towers extending on opposite ends of the base. The roof of the base building which functions as a courtyard can be accessed by residents in the adjacent units. Furthermore, the building includes a 1:1 ratio of both market units for ownership and social housing. This distinct and playful design maximizes light penetration into every floor, provides opportunities for larger corner units and allows access to the outdoors directly off every unit. The generously sized private terraces measure between 20 m2 and 30 m2 and provides care givers the opportunity to supervise from within the unit and while providing children with their first experience of independence. Youth, meanwhile, have a separate, safe place to socialize within the building. The unique unit layouts and terraces provide each households with a sense of individual identity which instils pride and greater feelings of “ownership”. The combination of the larger shared outdoor spaces, the variety of unit layouts including one, two, three and four bedroom options, large private terraces and tenure options help to accommodate the diverse needs of households including those with children. 4 BDR 18% STUDIO & 1 BDR 28% 5 BDR 1% 3 BDR 26% 2 BDR 27%
