– Functional Fitness

– Sports Science Training

• Foundation Level:

– Athletes in groups are put through training stations to improve overall

BASES (Balance, Agility, Strength,

Endurance, Speed)

• Intermediate & Advanced Levels:

– Athletes are individually monitored to correct misalignments,

inefficiencies, weaknesses, and to improve specific performance

measurements. At this level, athletes are trained based upon their

evaluation and screening results and monitored for improvements. © Fusion Sport Pty Ltd

• Foundation Level:

– Athletes in groups put through sports science stations

and can view their results on the electronic scoreboard

– Athletes are visually observed in groups for mechanical

and technique improvements during the training

• Intermediate & Advanced Levels:

– Time every drill in every session, athletes wear RFID wristbands for data

tracking

– Individual evaluation / screening data captured

– Feedback on every drill while capturing data

• Foundation Level:

– Athletes have the ability to view their scores but we do

not individually make it available for review

– We send a summary overview each month of the program

based upon some captured data and our observations

• Intermediate & Advanced Levels:

– Powerful combination of QUALITATIVE and QUANTITATIVE analysis

– Time every drill and review individual athlete reports

– Know your athletes – recovery, improvement, effort

– Motivation, accountability, competition

– Reinforce coaching with hard data

– In-Depth Analytics Available For Coach / Athlete

– Biomechanical/technique analysis

WHAT IS SPEED?

• Skilled speed – timing and depth of attack, passing

• Evasion – defensive/offensive

• Agility – planned, reactive, uni/multi-directional

• Deceleration & reacceleration – direction and pace changes

• Top speed

• Acceleration

Our technology tests and trains ALL areas of speed.

Cutting Drills

Cutting drills use the lights to command players to make reactive changes of

direction. These drills are ideal for training agility, reaction time, change of

direction, peripheral vision, team skills and rehabilitation.

Serpentine Drills

Serpentine drills use central visual cues of different colors (red, blue, green or

all) to command athletes to perform certain tasks (e.g. red = right, green = left).

These drills are ideal for training fast reactions, decision making and

acceleration/deceleration. Ideal for dribbling sports as players must look up

when performing skills.

Grid Drills

Grid drills are the most popular of the SMARTSPEED reactive drill families, with

many variations for individual players or whole teams. A player or team is

assigned a color and they must then chase this color around the grid for a set

time. The lights are completely random, so these are excellent for peripheral

vision, agility, team games and more.

WHAT MAKES OUR TIMING THE BEST?

• Real-time Plyometrics

feedback

• Contact time, flight time

• Peak Power Output (PPO)

• Reactive strength index

(RSI)

• Vertical Jump Height

Train for QUALITY, not quantity.

REACTIVE JUMP TRAINING AND TESTING

© Fusion Sport Pty Ltd

Page 23: BAT Presentation

BENEFITS – JUMP TRAINING

• Real-time feedback assists athlete in developing a “feel” for correct contact time

• Quality and safety of jump training maximized –

– Better improvements

– Reduces injuries due to incorrect technique or overloading

• Used by many clients as a monitoring tool for recovery

• Controls parameters for training and research to ensure activity is actually in the ‘plyometric zone’

© Fusion Sport Pty Ltd

Page 24: BAT Presentation

• Fast contact time = 100-250ms

• Slow contact time = > 250ms (Schmidtbleicher, 1992)

• Contacts in sprinting can be as low as 80ms

• Contacts >300ms rely more on maximal strength and less on speed

• Monitoring CT is important in determining loading in plyometric training (e.g. drop jumps, weighted jumps)

• Controlling contact time increases safety and effectiveness of training

CONTACT TIME FEEDBACK - CRITICAL

Page 25: BAT Presentation

Coach programs desired CT

Immediate BIOFEEDBACK –

Green = good contactRed = poor contact

Athlete quickly learns good contact technique by trial and error
