The students that were acknowledged for achieving excellence in one or more areas at this lunch were: Taya Bullas—Excellence in Literacy (Reading) Lleyton Cartmel—Excellence in Literacy (Reading) Georgia Dakin—Excellence in Physical Education Diesel Davis—Excellence in Literacy (Writing) James Graham—Excellence in Literacy (Reading) Tabatha Heffer—Excellence in Literacy (Reading) Anthony Kelley—Excellence in Mathematics (Number) Thomas Rawnsley—Excellence in Literacy (Reading) Olivia Taranto—Excellence in Literacy (Reading) Congratulations to all our award winners. Your pictures will be displayed on the Wall of Fame in the front foyer. BVPS Carols by Glowlight Between 6.30pm-7.00pm start Sausage Sizzle, drinks, popcorn, sno cones, lolly bags, lucky dip and more Performances by grades, carols by choir and a surprise visitor! The best news that we can now reveal is that there will be fireworks on the night (weather permitting). Gail Butter- worth has gone to a lot of trouble getting this organised and has just found out that the permits have been approved. So make sure you come along for a fun night of family entertainment. The Glow products are still available to be ordered but make sure you do so before the night. The orders are to be prepaid. A big thank you to everyone who has donated Christmas decorations for us to use on the night. HOUSE SWIMMING SPORTS These will be held tomorrow at the following times: Senior grades (3-6) will commence at 9am and go through to 11am. Relays will be included in this time. We will have an earlier lunch time and the Prep—2’s will commence at 1.30pm through to 3.10pm. Parents and friends are most welcome to come along and cheer on the competitors. CANTEEN VOLUNTEERS 11th December — Kylie Hakim and Angie Pryor Next Thursday, 11th December will be the last day for Canteen this year. There will be Hot Dogs for sale on this day for $3 each. Please note that there will be no Spaghetti Bolognese and limited Pizza. ACTIVE AFTER SCHOOL This week is the last week of Cricket on Monday and Tennis on Wednesday. The AFL group on a Thursday have one more night next Thursday, 11th December. LIBRARY BORROWING Library borrowing is now closed for the year. Please return any borrowed books as soon as possible to the Library. Notices will go home next week for any out-standing books. BUS STOP SUPERVISION/BEHAVIOUR The bus company have reported to us today of an inci-dent that happened at a bus stop that could have been very serious. Instead of waiting 3m back from the bus until it is fully stopped, two boys were jostling for posi-tion and one nearly ended up under the front wheels. Parents are responsible for their children at the bus stops and need to be there supervising your children. JUNIOR SCHOOL COUNCIL FUNDRAISER $153 was raised for the RSPCA. Every student that gave a gold coin donation received a raffle ticket and Charlie Houston was the lucky winner. Well done Charlie and thank you to everyone who supported this fundraiser. 2015 SCHOOL CONTRIBUTION We have posted out to all our families who have chil-dren attending Bass Valley next year, information regarding school fees. Please take the time to read this information and please ask at the school office if you require further information. As there will be no E.M.A. next year it is important that families know what fees will be payable and when they need to be paid by so that they can start making preparations for this. Payments are due by Friday 27th February 2015. The swimming levy will be $85 as it was this year and will need to be paid by 27th February for students to continue in the swimming program in March. HATS—COMPULSORY!! Hats are compulsory for outside play during 4th Term. If students do not have a hat they will have to stay in the shaded areas. We do not lend out hats so make sure you have your own hat at school. You can purchase school hats from the office for $12 each.
