Bartering for advertising allows businesses to promote their products or services without having to outlay extra cash costs to do so.

“The secret of success is to find out where everyone else is going and get there first.”

- Mark Twain

Advertising is important to retaining a businesses brand value, reputation and market position withconsumers. Just as Stuart Henderson Britt said, “Doing business without advertising is like winking at a girl in the dark. You might know what you are doing, but nobody else does,” it is very difficult to do business if no one knows that you exist, much less what you are about.

Do You Really Need Advertising?

You’ve developed great products and services and sold them as well as anyone. That’s why you’re in business. Now you want to grow by gaining more clients to take your business to the next level.

In an era of information overload it is very important to keep reminding customers and prospects that you are in business. If you aren’t out there, your competitors will be.

Ormita helps businesses like yours break through and beat your competitors. Our award winning “barter for advertising” solution lets you swap your time, space or excess and undervalued inventory for media campaigns locally, across the country, or across the world.

Ormita’s focus is on providing you with a low risk solution that creates a positive return for your business. We take a very business-minded approach to solving marketing problems. Helping to increase your customer base and grow your cash business is our goal.

Other Reasons to Consider Bartering for AdvertisingBartering Moves Excess Inventory & Fills Idle Space and Time

Every business owner struggles with the dilemma of what to do with de-preciating inventory or idle time. By bartering for advertising with Ormita you are using that excess capacity to generate more cash sales.

Barter Improves Cash Flow

There are three basic ways to improve your cash flow - maximise your return on investment, generate additional sales and reduce costs. Ormita does all three of these things. Bartering allows you to buy advertising using your depreciating inventory or previously unsold time, empty hotel rooms or un-filled seats. Rather than discounting, you are maximising the value of those assets while generating incremental sales. When you purchase media us-ing those barter credits the payment is made from new sales -- sales that would not have otherwise happened.

Attracts New Cash Paying Clients

By using barter to acquire advertising you are increasing the possibilities that people will recognise your prod-uct or service and buy from you for cash you’re the time is right.

Bartering Maximises The Value of Your Excess Capacity

Bartering via Ormita will return more value for your product or service than either discounting or cash liquida-tion would allow. Bartering can even recover the original wholesale price, including the full anticipated profit.

Creating Wholesale Buying Power

With barter, the real cost of the adver-tising is the cost to make a new sale. For time or serviced based industries this is nominal. For product manufac-turers this is either: the cost to manu-facturer a replacement product; or the extra margin that you would not have earned if you had sold for the dis-tressed item at liquidation prices.

Ensures Retention of Brand Value

Ormita allows you to barter your product or service at full market value without impacting your brand or cash-paying customers. By selling “off-market” to Ormita members a business retains full control over prod-uct placement and pricing. Ormita matches sellers with buyers from across the globe – providing a new outlet to move those products.

Generates Cash Referrals

People who acquire your product or service on barter are likely to tell oth-ers. This may result in more “word-of-mouth” referrals, an increased work-portfolio, more recommenda-tions, improved organizational skills, higher visibility and more cash sales.

Bartering for Advertising Expands Your Market ShareAdvertising is essentially mass-produced salesmanship. If it were possible to speak to all of one’s prospects face-to-face, no one would bother to use advertising. Because most businesses cannot do this, they need to pay for some form of advertisement. Unfortunately, the cost of advertising may be too high for many businesses, particu-larly in the current economic environment. Barter can be the saviour of such an enterprise.

What Can Be Exchanged for Advertising?

• Excess Inventory• Depreciating Assets• Undervalued Stock• Incorrectly Packaged Stock• End-of-line Items• Test Products• Event Tickets• Hotel Room Nights• Real Estate / Property • Transportation Services• Professional Services• Gift Vouchers

What Can Not Be Bartered?

• Expired Items (unless they can be re-purposed)

Some Basic Rules of BarterWhen Selling Your Product on Barter

Ormita does not sell your product for cash – ever. Instead we barter it through our network.

You may be required to provide us with copies of bro-chures, marketing materials and/or samples of your product. You may also have to show us proof of product RRP/wholesale price.

You will need to tell us if there are any restrictions on where your product can go or who it can be sold to on barter. (We don’t want to impact your current cash market).

When you sell your account with Ormita is credited the value of the sale as if it were a cash sale. You use that credit to buy advertising through the Ormita network.

There are no costs to accrue barter credits in your account and no monthly or entry fees.

When Buying Your Product on Barter

You can not buy advertising from a business you have already purchased from using cash within the last 12 months. (You could instead choose another available advertis-ing outlet which has a similar audience).

Prices are rate card or better (depending on volume and frequency of advertising).

Not all media are available all the time.

Most media require “brand approval”. This means you will need to submit information to them about what you are intending to advertise, copies of your brochures and any examples of other advertising you have done elsewhere.

All media barter buys are 100% barter unless otherwise noted. (There is a 14% cash fee on every advertising purchase to cover our costs).

Ormita has offices in 23 countries

According to studies undertaken by the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), GATT and World Bank; reciprocal trade, counter-trade, retail barter and community currencies remain a popular method of commerce with 20 to 30 percent of world trade being facilitated through some form of barter, World-wide corporate barter has reached the $200 billion mark as well and counter-trade reportedly accounts for over 4 trillion dollars in transactionsannually.

Everyone wants to conserve cash and generate more wealth and in a highly competitive market every business is on the look-out for something that will give them a competitive edge. The barter industry represents an amazing opportunity for participants – allowing them to “trade what they have – for what they want”.

When a business can convert its surplus capacity into something of value – either expense already budgeted for or investments aimed at company growth – they will succeed.

When we established the Ormita brand we had an objective of creating a business that would be successful, sustainable and create value - not just for shareholders, but for our customers as well. In short: we wanted to establish a business that we could be proud of for its value to our friends, colleagues and society, as well as to our own pockets.

We believe that Ormita has succeeded in this mission.

Our vision is much more than being successful – it is the combined excellence and commitment to our members, staff and all other stakeholders, and the communities we serve. Above all, we believe Ormita is well placed to deliver significant returns for our customers and partners.
