ASE- Certified Master School Bus Technician
Step increases increments for ASE-Certified Master Bus Technician (Must be a Certified School Bus Inspector to qualify). School bus tests cover ABCD busses and include 7 tests: Body System and Special Equipment, Diseal Engines, Drive Train, Brakes, Suspensionand Steering, Electrical/Electronic and Air Conditioning Systems and Controls.
Step 1 Technician must be certified in 2 of the 7 ASE School Bus Tests. (Will receive a 2% increase on base salary).
Step 2 Technician must be certified in 4 or 7 ASE School Bus Tests. (Will receive a 4% increase on base salary).
Step 3 Technician must be certified in 6 or the 7 ASE School Bus Tests and become an ASE - Certified Master School Bus Technician. (Will receive a 6% increase on base salary)
Step 4 Technician will receive the final increase in salary after completing 10 years of uninterrupted service within the district and maintain the ASE-Certified Master School Bus Technician. (Will receive a $2,500.00 final increase)

(Will receive a 6% increase on base salary)
Step 1 Tech must complete in district service and successfully complete 4 of the 9 IMT certified classes offered by the Bowling Green Tech College (WKU). (Note = required labs pertaining to class are counted with-in the class as one. (Will receive a 2% increase on base salary)
Step 3 Tech must complete in district service and successfully complete the remaing 2 IMT classes
Step 2 Tech must complete in district service and successfully complete 3 of the remaining IMT classes offered having a total of 7 completed. (Note - required labs pertaining to classes are counted with-in class as one. (Will receive a 4% increase on base salary)
Step 4 Tech will receive a final increase in salary after completing 10 years of uninterrupted service within the district and maintaining the Industrial Maintenance Tech certification. (Will receive a $2500 final increase)

The district will pay all pre-approved certification tests fees provided the candidate receives a passing score. The district will pay all pre-approved training fees. Any additional publications or training will be the responsibility of the employee.
The employee will be responsible for repaying the full costs of certification tests if the employee leaves the district within one full year of receiving certification. The employee will be responsible for repaying one half the costs of certification tests if the employee leaves the district within two full years of receiving certification.
All moves to a different level and corresponding salary increases will be effective at the turn of the following fiscal year. (July 1)
