Barker College Bus Policy Uniform All students must wear the full Barker school uniform when waiting at bus stops and travelling to and from School. Students travelling on the 5.20pm service to St Ives, Terrey Hills and Beaches, may wear their sport uniform, or their full Barker tracksuit. Behaviour • Do not distract the driver or interfere with the operation of the bus • Board and leave the bus in an orderly manner • Respect bus property and the property of others • All students must be seated and wearing a seat belt • Place bags under the seat, near your feet or in the storage areas provided – not on the seats • Eating or drinking is not permitted on Barker buses. Drinking water is acceptable. • Treat other students and the bus driver with respect • Be courteous and keep conversations to a reasonable level • Swearing is not acceptable. • Digital media should not be shared with other students on the bus • Do not move around the bus while it is in motion Any report of inappropriate behaviour or misconduct may result in the following action: • Warning from the School • Suspension from using the bus service • Barker bus pass revoked North Sydney Bus Charters It should be noted that during scheduled servicing or following daily safety checks, a replacement bus may be provided by North Sydney Bus Charters. These replacement buses will not carry the Barker College insignia nor be equipped with air conditioning or seat belts. In an effort to keep to the timetables the bus is unable to wait past the published pick-up times, so students must be at the designated bus stop well in advance of the scheduled time of departure. Notification will be given whenever possible of any timetable changes. Every effort is made for the bus to keep to the current timetable. However, North Sydney Bus Charters and/or the bus driver have no control over the volume of traffic encountered or other potential general peak hour delays contributing to and affecting the general flow of traffic during the times the bus service is being provided. If parents wish to request a change to the published timetable, they should contact the School directly on 9847 8207 and not make individual arrangements with the driver.
