Rosato, MD, FACS received his fellowship training in laparoscopic surgery from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. He is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. Our hepatobiliary surgeons, Dr. Christopher Gannon and Dr. Francis Rosato, are experts in image-guided minimally invasive surgery to treat benign masses and malignancies in the stomach, small intestine, colon, rectum, liver, gall bladder, esophagus, pancreas and bile duct. They use a multidisciplinary approach to cancer care, which has been shown to improve outcomes for cancers in the gastrointestinal tract. SURGICAL ONCOLOGY Lisa R. Allen, MD received her fellowship training in breast-related oncology from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX. She is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of General Surgery. Christopher J. This multispecialty surgical practice is comprised of experienced surgeons who are experts in a wide range of surgical disciplines. GENERAL SURGERY All surgeons at Capital Health Surgical Group have completed residency training in general surgery and are certified by the American Board of Surgery. Moreover, most have additional specialization and fellowship training in another discipline of surgery. Our practice is able to provide two surgeons for surgical cases that are extremely complex before, during or after surgery. We also have dedicated surgical physicians trained to monitor critically ill patients in a closed Surgical Intensive Care Unit. MINIMALLY INVASIVE SURGERY Our surgeons are able to perform many highly complex procedures through much smaller (an inch or less) incisions or through one of the body’s natural openings, leading to more successful outcomes. At Capital Health Surgical Group, Dr. Jooyeun Chung and Dr. Francis Rosato are two of the few surgeons in the region to have fellowship training in laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgery from highly recognized institutions such as Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. BARIATRIC SURGERY Jooyeun Chung, MD received her fellowship training in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery and minimally invasive surgery from Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA. She is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of General Surgery. Dr. Jooyeun Chung performs a wide array of surgical procedures but she specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of metabolic disorders. Her focus is on minimally invasive gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, lap band and other surgical procedures with potential to successfully affect obesity (weight loss), diabetes, osteoarthritis, and hypertension. BREAST SURGERY Lisa R. Allen, MD received her fellowship training in breast-related oncology from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX. She is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of General Surgery. Dr. Lisa Allen treats women with a variety of breast related conditions, both malignant in nature (cancerous) and benign, which can range from masses that are non-cancerous to other conditions. Board certified and fellowship trained at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Allen is dedicated solely to women’s breast care and the surgical treatment of breast cancer. VASCULAR SURGERY Joshua A. Eisenberg, MD, FACS received his fellowship training in vascular surgery from Pennsylvania Hospital (University of Pennsylvania Health System) in Philadelphia, PA. He is dual board certified in general surgery and vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery. Alfredo R. Abud, MD received his fellowship training in vascular surgery from Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH. Fellowship trained as an endovascular surgeon, Dr. Joshua Eisenberg, provides the full spectrum of treatment for the vascular system, including abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysms, carotid artery blockages, peripheral vascular disease (PVD), venous diseases including treatment of DVT and varicose veins, and other conditions related to the vascular system (veins and arteries outside of the brain and heart).
