The Division of oesophago gastric surgery was formed as a by product of the GEM initiative to move towards the Organ Based Subspecialisation Model to improve training, expertise, research and eventually outcomes in Oesophagogastric diseases.This form of organ based specialization akin to the western practice is one of the very few in the country and GEM runs at the forefront in this pathway.
COLORECTAL SURGERY
The division is aimed to offer comprehensive surgical care to patients with benign and malignant diseases of the Colon, Rectum and anal canal. Emergency and Elective procedures pertaining to the Colon, Rectum and anus are performed by a dedicated team of Gastrienterologists specially trained & experienced in Colorectal Surgery
