Most of the traditional fittingsshown in this brochure are fromthe 1890’s (GA) range whichhave the original exposed topworks, with traditional rubbertap washers. An alternative to this style is the Regent (R) range with "easy-clean" shrouded head parts. Thecode numbers for the Regentrange are the same as the 1890’s
range but are prefixed with theletter ‘R’instead of ‘GA’.For most Regent and GA styleswe can now supply ceramic discheadworks. Regent ceramic disc(RCD) and GA ceramic disc(GCD). These give traditionalstyling with state of the artceramic disc internals.
The Mastercraft (MC) range isbased on our original 1930’sdesign and incorporates a stylishArt Deco theme of hexagonalcapstans, shrouds and spouts.Again, the code numbers are the same as the 1890’s range but are prefixed with the letters ‘MC’ instead of ‘GA’.Mastercraft is not available with ceramic disc headworks.

GENERAL - to preserve the high quality finish, rinse afteruse with clean water using a soft cloth and dry with a softchamois leather or a towel.
NEVER - use any form of abrasive. This type ofcleaner/material is not necessary if the product is cleanedregularly in accordance with the above instructions, as theywill definitely cause surface damage to all finishes. Mostsurfaces are relatively immune to attack from casual contactwith the chemicals found in household cleaners (but avoidprolonged contact). Such cleaners should be rinsed off ifnecessary, avoid rubbing.
N.B. The use of proprietary chrome, nickel and goldcleaners/polishes should not be necessary, but in any eventshould only be used in strict accordance with themanufacturers instructions.
The only marks that can be difficult to remove with a dampcloth are water stains, which can appear in hard water areas. These marks are limescale, which must be dissolved notrubbed away. Watch out particularly around the base of tapsand back of mixers for any build up of limescale. A word ofcaution: limescale is chemically the same as marble and thecleaner designed for its removal may also dissolve marblesurfaces. Alkaline soap residues, if left to dry on, will attack allplated surfaces and again must be rinsed away (not rubbed).
Proprietary limescale removers may be used but only strictlyin accordance with manufacturers instructions.
CHROME & NICKEL
The hardest of the decorative finishes, but we stillrecommend that you avoid scouring powders and abrasives.Chrome resists most chemicals but watch out for any formof hydrochloric acid such as proprietary liquid cleaner fordentures - it will dissolve the chrome in half an hour. Wipe products dry with a soft cloth after cleaning.
GOLD PLATED (INCA) FINISHES
Although the softest of the decorative finishes, it is perfectlydurable with care and is resistant to chemical attack.Dissolve any water stains at the first sign using proprietarylimescale removers (following the manufacturersinstructions). Pay particular attention to the softness of thecloth you use to towel the gold products dry after cleaning.
SATIN (VELOS) FINISHES
These finishes are available in chrome, inca and nickel. Care as for bright finishes.
COLOURS
Harder than gold, but less hard than chrome. Resistant tochemicals, but beware of nail varnish remover which willsoften most finishes of this nature. Generally care for colours like gold.
WEATHERED BRONZE
This finish is produced by first electroplating with copper.Items are then chemically aged. Copper highlights willdevelop in use, due to handling and cleaning asrecommended. Cleaning must follow the recommendationsfor all other decorative finishes as above.
POLISHED BRASS FINISH
We also supply fittings in natural polished brass. This is not lacquered or electroplated and will tarnish quickly andnaturally. To maintain the polished finish metal polishshould be used.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING INSTALLATION
It is essential that thermostatic valves are installed giving full access for servicing. Where a suitable face plate is providedfor finishing it should be affixed to the wall with a thin bead of silicone sealant. Under no circumstances should valvesbe plastered in, tiled in or otherwise entombed. If practical, rear access should be provided. Failure to follow theseinstructions could nullify any warranty, and could result in damage to tiled or decorative finishes. It is essential that pipelines are flushed before fitting.
