TANGGAPAN NG PUNUMBAYAN
MENSAHE
Mahalaga ang kamulatan ng mamamayan sa mga impormasyon ukol sa
bawat barangay ng Atimonan. Ang magbigay ng konkreto at angkop na mga
datos ang layunin ng Socio-Economic Profile ng mga Barangay. Ito rin ang
magsisilbing matibay na batayan upang mabalangkas ng Pamahalaang Bayan
ang mga programang pangkaunlaran na ang mamamayan ang higit na
makikinabang.
Ang ating mamamayan ang salamin ng kaunlaran ng bayan kaya ang
progreso ng apatnapu’t dalawang barangay ay pinapahalagahan ng Lokal na
Pamahalaan ng Atimonan. Ang Socio-economic Profile ang testimonya na patuloy
ang pag-unlad ng ating bayan.

KATANGIAN AT INTERPRETASYON SA OPISYAL NA LOGO NG BARANGAY
Ang opisyal na sagisag (logo) ay binubuo ng dalawang hugis bilog, isa(1) sa loob
at isa sa labas. Ang espasyo sa gitna ng dalawang (2) hugis bilog ay nakasulat
ang mga sumusunod:
BARANGAY ANGELES – pangalan ng barangay at nakalagay sa itaas na bahagi
ng bilog.
ATIMONAN, QUEZON – pangalan ng bayan at probinsyang nakaksakop sa
barangay sa ibabang bahagi ng hugis bilog.
Ang gitnang bahagi ng nasa loob ng bilog ang mga sumasagisag sa
pagkakakilanlan ng barangay ay ang mga sumusunod:
KULAY DILAW na sumisimbolo sa sikat ng araw na sagisag ng magandang
bukang liwayway na siyang nagbibigay pag-asa sa mga mamamayan.
KULAY BUGHAW na sumisimbolo sa kulay ng anyong tubig ng dagat na kung
saan ang mga mamamayan ay dito kinukuha ang pangunahing ikinabubuhay.
KULAY LUNTIAN na sumisimbolo sa yamang lupa na siyang sumasagisag na
ang Barangay Angeles ay napapaligiran ng mga kabundukan.
SIRENA na sumisimbolo sa pagkakakilanlan ng Barangay Angeles.
Ang pagkilala ay ibinibigay sa mga nag-ambag para sa pagsasa-ayosng opisyal
na sagisag (logo) ng barangay at ito ay ang mga sumusunod:

1. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
KASAYSAYAN NG BARANGAY ANGELES
Halos dalawang araw at magdamag na noo’y masungit ang panahon at magha-
maghapung hindi nagpakita ang araw at ng gumabi na ay tila nagluksa ang langit sa
kasungitan ng dilim. Kinaumagahan, madilim dilim pa halos ay natanawan ng mga
nagsisipag-tanod sa kastilyo ang kung ilang pangko ng mga moro sa gawing nayon ng
Tanawan, na noo’y patungo na sa silangan. Noon naunawaan, na ang marami palang
pangko ng mga moro ay lulusob sana sa bayan ng Atimonan subalit hindi makadaong sa
baybayin ng bayan sapagkat ang tingin sa bayan ay mga daping matatayog. Kaya sa hindi
nila pagkakita sa bayang Atimonan ay ipinasiya nilang magbalik na sa kanilang
pinanggalingang lugar.
Nang umaga ring iyon sa di malamang sanhi, ang pintakasi ng Nuestra Señora de
los Angeles ay nawala sa panggitnang dampa ng Simbahang Katoliko. Sa gayo’y nagulo ang
buong bayan na noo’y may bakod o estaka ng paligid-ligid. Ngunit sa himatong ng mga taga-
nayon ng Aloco na may nakita silang mag-ina, na may kalong na bata at ang ina ay may
mahabang buhok at walang pandong ang ulo, ayon sa palagay nila ay patungo sa may
gawing kuweba na pinagtirhan ng isang Ermitanyo na malaon nang panahong nalilibing sa
bulwagan ng Sakristiya ng Simbahang Katoliko ay natagpuan ang nawawalang pintakasi.
Palatandaan pala, na ang paghihimala ng Pintakasi ay pagliligtas sa bayan sa isang
tiyak na sakuna.
Sa malaking kagalakan, ay iniuwi ng buong bayan sa pangangasiwa ng mga
principales ang natuklasang Birheng nasa bundok ng Aloco, at mula noon ay tinawag na
ANGELES ang nayon ng Aloco bilang paggunita sa himalang nangyari at mula noon ay inalis
na sa Simbahang Katoliko ang Pintakasing Nuestra Señora de los Angeles, at sa Tanggapan
ng Kapitan nang Munisipal inilagak at doon siya ay buong kataimtimang iniilawan o
tinutulisan ng mga kandila.
Maging kahit kanyang kaarawan, pagkatapos ng mga parangal ay kara-karakang
ibinabalik siya sa Tribunal, subalit ang Pista ng bayan, at ang pista ng pananampalataya,
ang ika-2 ng Agosto, kaarawan ng Pintakasing Nuestra Señora de los Angeles ay siyang
gawing pista ng lahat, ang dati rati’y nasa Tribunal na Nuestra Señora de los Angeles ay
tuluyan ng inilipat sa simbahang Katoliko.
2. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS Barangay Angeles is one of the Coastal Barangays of Atimonan. It is located about 2.5 kilometers away from the town’s poblacion. It is traversed by the Maharlika Highway bounded on North by Lamon Bay, on the south by Barangay Balubad, on the east by Barangay Manggalayan Bundok & Kilait and on the west by Barangay Tagbakin & Zone II Poblacion & Zone I Poblacion. It has the total area of 373. 33 hectares per record of Municipal Assessors Office composed of seven sitios – Sitio Bagong Silang, Sitio Matiyaga, Sitio Dalampasigan, Sitio Bukang Liwayway, Sitio Camagong, Sitio Campo and Sitio Diversion. Topography of the barangay is mostly plain on coastal side and mountainous to hilly on the other side. Almost 97% of land is agricultural. Definitive data were specified below:

3. SOCIO-ECONOMIC SECTOR RHU Survey of population 2014, showed that Barangay Angeles had a population of 2333 with a computed population growth rate of 1.09%. There are more female than male, with age distribution revealing 70.55% of the total population belongs to ages 10-59 years old; 23.87% under 1 year old to 9 years old and 5.57% belonging to 60 years old and above. This shows that Barangay Angeles has a very strong working population and low dependent population.
School going population (pre-school, elementary, secondary and college) is computed at 44.15% of the total population and the most common religion is Roman Catholic and Iglesia ni Cristo.

20.50 hectares area of the barangay is devoted to agriculture. Major crops are copra and
vegetables. There is no existing irrigation system that contributed to the limited production of farm
products. Some of the populace are leaned to poultry production for additional source of income.
