2.6 Network Address Translation (NAT)
These are advanced settings that in normal cases should not be
changed.
2.7 Application
Some applications require multiple connections, such as Internet
gaming, video conferencing and Internet telephony. These
appli-cations cannot work when Network Address Translation (NAT) is
enabled. If you need to run applications that require multiple
con-nections, specify the port normally associated with an
application in the "Trigger Port" field, select the protocol type
as TCP or UDP,then enter the public ports associated with the
trigger port to open them for inbound traffic.

2 28800 UDP 2300-2400, TCP MSN Game Zone47624
3 6112 UDP 6112 UDP Battle.net
2.8 Virtual Server
If you configure the Corega BAR SW-4PL Router as a virtual
server, remote users accessing services such as Web or FTP at
yourlocal site via public IP addresses can be automatically
redirected to local servers configured with private IP address. In
otherwords, depending on the requested service (TCP/UDP port
number), the Corega BAR SW-4PL Router redirects the external
servicerequest to the appropriate server.
Example:
ID Private IP Private Port Type Public Port Comment
1 192.168.2.20 80 TCP 200 Web Server
2 192.168.2.12 21 TCP 333 FTP Server
3 192.168.2.28 23 TCP 455 Telnet Server
In the example above, ID=1 allows data sent to WAN IP address on
port 200 to be re-directed to port 80 on the local LAN.

2.9 Firewall
2.9.1 Block WAN Ping
It is recommended that this parameter be enabled. This stops the
Corega BAR SW-4PL Router returning Ping packets to a computer
connected on the WAN port. This is a procedure adopted by some
hackers to find other computers on the net. If this is enabled,
then the Corega BAR SW-4PL Router will not respond, and thus a
hacker would not know about the presence of theCorega BAR SW-4PL
Router or local LAN.

To block a particular IP address, enter the IP address (or
range), the port range, and the time and days that you would like
theprotocols to be blocked. (Note, the Simple Network Time Protocol

2.9.3 DMZ
Note! To use this application, you should obtain a Fixed
(Static) Public IP Address from your ISP.
The DMZ Host application allows unrestricted 2-way communication
between a single LAN PC and other Internet users or servers. This
application is useful for supporting special-purpose services such
as video-conferencing and gaming, which require propri-etary client
software and/or 2-way user communication.
Note! In order to provide unrestricted access, the Firewall
provided by the Corega BAR SW-4PL Router to protect this port is
disabled, thus creating a potentially serious security risk. It is
recommended that this application should be disabled when it is not
in use by entering not checking the Enable DMZ field.

2.9.1 WAN-Ping blockieren
Es wird empfohlen, diesen Parameter zu aktivieren. Damit wird
verhindert, dass der Corega BAR SW-4PL Router Ping-Pakete an einen
