Banjo in the Mountains Easter Weekend, March 24-27 Lansing, North Carolina Instructors: Adam Hurt & Cathy Fink++ Join Adam & Cathy for a beautiful weekend in the Smokey Mountains in the hometown of banjo player/songwriter Ola Belle Reed. This is an intimate immersion workshop for only 10 students. There will only be 4-5 other students in your class, so each player will get detailed attention to their technique. The weekend is open to early intermediate through advanced players. It is not recommended for beginners. Learn techniques, tunings and approaches to playing banjo/fiddle tunes and song accompaniment. Tentative schedule: Thursday March 24, 7pm-9pm Arrival, meet & greet, light dinner, jam session Friday, March 25 10am-12pm – Classes 12-2pm – lunch break, hike, 2-4 – Classes 4-6:30 BREAK 6:30- Dinner in downtown Lansing at Pie on the Mountain 8pm- Jam session. Saturday, March 26 10am-12pm – Classes 12-12:45 – lunch break 1-2:30 – Classes 2:30- FREE TIME – Hike, explore Boone or West Jefferson, Sleep, Practice, Meditate 7:00 -Dinner - potluck on the Mountain 8pm- Concert with Adam, Cathy & Marcy Marxer Sunday, March 27 10am – BANJO BRUNCH – eat your banjo, or the yummy food. 11-1- More than one way to play everything.
