Observe all the warnings, precautions and notes on servicingprovided in this user manual in order to extend your monitor’sservice life.● As the driver, do not use the monitor when driving to avoid
traffic accidents.● Only run the device from the recommended 12 V DC power
supply.● Do not attempt to open the monitor or to dismantle it, as this
can result in an electric shock.● If your monitor develops a fault, take it to a dealer near you or
send it to our customer service department.● Avoid using the monitor in an environment where it will be
exposed to dust, dirt or moisture.● Make sure that you do not keep the Equipment Passport,
included with these instructions, in the vehicle.
Risk of severe damage to the CD drive! CD singleswith a diameter of 8 cm and non-circular contouredCDs (shape CDs) must not be used. We accept no re-sponsibility for any damage to the CD drive that mayoccur as a result of using unsuitable CDs.

The internal CD drive is a Class 1 laser productgenerating a visible or invisible laser beam of a po-tentially hazardous type. The CD drive must only beoperated in accordance with the specified instructions.Never open the housing, and do not attempt to per-form repairs yourself. Any servicing should be car-ried out by trained personnel.
Caring for CD-ROMs/DVDs
If a CD-ROM/DVD becomes dirty, never clean it with circularmovements, but use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean it from the in-side to the outside. In cases of heavy soiling we recommendwashing the CD/DVD using normal washing up liquid. Here againdo not clean the CD/DVD with circular movements, but alwaysfrom the inside to the outside before leaving it to dry.
We also recommend that you handle the CD/DVD very carefullyon both the upper and lower sides, because the structure of theCD/DVD places the information layer immediately under the print-ed side (the label).
Whenever possible, only hold the CD/DVD by the edge.
Comments on readability:
Any soiling or damage to a CD/DVD can make it difficult to read. The seriousness of the read error depends on the dirt and on theseriousness of the mechanical damage. Deep scratches causeread errors (data errors), and these can make the CD/DVD jumpor get stuck. Always therefore handle your CD/DVDs carefully, and always keep them in a protective sleeve.
Usable CD types
CD-Rs/CD-RWs (CDs that you have burned yourself) can usual-ly be played. However, because CD quality varies, Blaupunktcannot guarantee that the device will function correctly.
To ensure that audio CDs function properly, only use CDs markedwith the compact disc logo. Problems might be experienced whentrying to play copy-protected CDs. Blaupunkt cannot guaranteethe proper functioning of copy-protected CDs!

64Glossary
Downmix
The downmix function allows you to create a stereo signal from aDolby Prologic signal. This can then be distributed to the fourloudspeakers.
Dolby Digital
The Dolby Digital multi-channel technology uses up to six chan-nels, and therefore gives a convincing impression of spatial depthand a high sense of reality. This is provided by separate chan-nels for the left, right and centre loudspeakers in the front of thevehicle, along with two full-range surround loudspeakers in theback of the vehicle as well as a subwoofer.
DVD video
DVD video is a software standard specified by the DVD Forumspecifically for video signals. An application layer is also neces-sary for DVD. This specifies standards for such things as the play-back speed, forward/ reverse play, interactivity, up to eight audiotracks with up to eight channels, and adjustment of camera an-gles.
MP3
MP3 stands for MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3, and is a data format inwhich music can be compressed and stored digitally. Due to itsability to combine high quality with small file sizes as well as itsplatform-independence, the MP3 format has now become theleading format for compressed audio.
