The Scott Sutherland School has been instrumental in the provision of bespoke training to a wide range of clients across the Built Environment and Energy sectors. We are experienced in developing solutions to specific client problems utilising focussed training, workshops, seminars and consultancy.
Our aim is to deliver competency based and practical skills relevant to industry requirements. All training, which includes a University Certificate of Participation, can be used to create an entry point to fully accredited courses.
Our consultancy work ranges from one-off specific projects of a few days duration to partnering projects comprising longer term relationships with our clients. Our expertise in Energy Performance assessment and design is renowned throughout Scotland and wider afield. We have established expertise in commercial practice and project management, over more than 15 years, which has been recognised by the Energy Sectors as very relevant to its needs.
Examples of recently completed Business Services include: Project Management Training, Introduction to Petroleum Economics, Hygro-thermal Analysis of ‘Hard to Heat’ housing, Introduction to Project Planning and Control, Building Performance Investigation.
Central to the strategy of our School is the desire to strengthen existing links with industry partners and to perform wider collaborative roles as a key regional provider of expertise through training, research and consultancy.
The Scott Sutherland School has a long and distinguished history as a multi-disciplinary school providing education, training and research in key professional areas relating to design, management and construction. As part of Robert Gordon University – The Professional University – we place an emphasis on delivering professionally relevant education and maintaining a strong engagement with both the construction and energy sectors.
