Cross – Docking and Goods Handling - EWM solution
44
The EWM solution foresees 3 different warehouse models, on the base of their
position during the goods sorting:
1° HUB: collection goods’ receipt management, opportunistic cross docking after billing, load
management towards next HUB
Intermediate HUB: pure HUB of cross-docking. Reception in truck line entry, internal cross
docking, load management towards next HUB
Last HUB: reception in truck line entry, internal cross docking and load management per vehicle
(after distribution planning)

Warehouse Monitoring: Yard management
49
The yard management monitor is
the Standard tool used to
manage the inbound and
outbound flow of vehicles and
allows for parking section
management and warehouse
door assignment.
The SAP system performs
various checks, including whether
the door is already occupied by
other vehicles.
The transportation unit is linked
to the SAP document of the
goods in the swap body
(inbound/outbound delivery) that
must be unloaded in the staging
area.
www.artoni.com
To execute the double
movement it is necessary
to determine the location
in multiple points in order
to change the final
destination at fixed control
points.
For example the inbound
pallet is diverted onto the
transfer car which at that
moment has the fewest
pallets to put away.
When the pallet is at the
last point of the transfer car
it is put away near to the
next picking assignment.
