B.Tech.(6 Years Integrated Diploma & Degree Program)

Shri Vile Parle Kelvani Mandal (SVKM) is a charitable trust formed in 1938 to spread

education amongst various sections of the society, especially women. The trust has made

rapid progress since its formation. At present it caters to 40000 students in different

sectors of education. The trust formed NMIMS deemed-to-be university in 2003 under

section 3 of the UGC act 1956.

All programs at NMIMS are well knit, relevant and co-designed with industry partners. Accompanied by these

initiatives, the school offers innovative pedagogical delivery like on line as well as experiential learning, summer

courses etc. at reputed universities abroad. The laboratories at MPSTME are stat-of-the-art. Numbers of

laboratories and centres like NMIMS-BOSCH-Rexroth centre of excellence in Industrial Automation, Accenture 2Centre of Innovation, Blackberry Innovation laboratory, EMC laboratory for information storage management etc.

have been set with active industry collaboration. As a result the programs are well received by the industry

resulting in near 100% placement.

NMIMS caters to different sectors of education like management, engineering,

technology management, science, law, finance etc. At present NMIMS caters to

13,000 students. Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and

Engineering (MPSTME) a constituent of NMIMS was formed in 2006. The school also

conducts MBA (Tech.) program which is 5 year integrated dual degree program,

Undergraduate (B.Tech.), Post graduate (M.Tech., MCA) and Ph.D. programs. The

school caters to 3900 students. Similar courses are also

offered at NMIMS Shirpur campus which hosts 1550 students.

MPSTME has initiated a unique six years B.Tech integrated program for 10+ students from the academic year

2014-15 with industry and academic inputs. It has been found from inputs that 80-90 % students after their

diploma, opt for degree programs to enhance their career prospects. When they do take admission for degree

programs, there is a lot of overlap in the technical content while the lateral entry students lack in mathematics

foundation. This program will bridge the shortcomings and prepare the students for a career in the industry.

The salient features of the program are:

• Well-knit curriculum in Civil, Computer, Electronics and Telecommunications and Mechanical Engineering with opportunity to pursue B.Tech in Mechatronics for meritorious students.

Eligibility

Candidate must have passed SSC (Std X) examination or its equivalent with subject Mathematics, General Science

and English with 70% aggregate marks.
