Mobile payments transforming travel
You can read the full ACI article here.
According to a report by ACI, apps have
overtaken mobile browsers when it comes to
booking travel online. According to the article,
"By 2015 that proportion [of leisure travellers]
had grown to 31%, according to Google, with
54% of business travelers having booked
travel on their smartphone."
Apparently, one touch booking and
personalised experiences on apps are in
demand, and merchants can adopt simple and
secure payment solutions.

Single Market exit could spell disaster
Noyer has even predicted that the "entire EEA
concept would probably die" and that leaving
the single market could be a very real
"threat".
Now that it is confirmed that Britain is leaving
the EU, it has also been confirmed that this
will spell the end of the single market
membership for the UK. An article written by Christian Noyer for the Financial Times
predicts that leaving the single market could
have a disastrous impact on UK trade and
commerce.

Costs of eCommerce A recent article from The Guardian explained
how some retailers are moving away from
ecommerce due to to costs of delivery and
returns, as well as loss of customer interest.
The article states that "58% [of customers] said
a retailer’s returns policy has an effect on their
decision to make a purchase online." We think
that rather than give up on ecommerce,
merchants can easily adapt and make their
online shops more accessible and customer-
friendly.
Back in October, we published a handy guide
on minimising cart abandonment in
ecommerce. Read the guide here.

Sweden: taxes and booze cruises
Sweden's government has recently
complained of a financial concern - that the
country is collecting too much tax!
The culprit? The high tax on alcohol leading to
cross border 'booze cruises to countries such
as Estonia. While taxing alcohol would
probably go down badly in the UK, the high
revenue collected by Sweden certainly has its
benefits!
Sweden has also been leading the way with
other initiatives such as recycling and greener
energy. Do you think we should follow suit?
