Eastern Zonal AWIM Master Teacher Training Programme (MTTP) ‘2011  

AWIM MTTP for eastern India was conducted @ MCKV Institute of engineering, Liluah, Howrah on 14th August 2011 from 9 am to 6 pm.

30 Student volunteers from MCKVIE College & 10 teachers from 5 school in and around cities & towns of Eastern India (esp. Kolkata ,Howrah ,Hooghly) participated in the 1st Workshop for AWIM under the Sponsorship Mr .Kishan Kejriwal the trustee of MCKVIE and the Owner , KISWOK Industries Pvt Ltd. He sponsored Rs.1 lakh for this noble cause. The support from principal MCKVIE, Dr. Parasar Bandyopadhyay for this noble cause has been remarkable.

Eastern zonal convener, Mr. Padmesh Sewda, Asst Manager, Vehicle Development, M&M ltd, Nasik conducted MTTP training .

The Zonal Coordinator and the Student volunteers who participated in the workshop were all engineering students from MCKV Institute of Engineering. 1st and 2nd year students are from different domains like Automobile / IT, Electrical, CSE and ECE streams. This proves how inspired students were for the noble cause.

A total of around 30 Volunteers both girls and boys attended the 1st Eastern Zonal MTTP to take AWIM a step further in years to come .The Girls volunteers are were,

AWIM training was all about making a Jet Toy based on Physics and Mathematics through a kit designed by SAE International /SAE India .This kit material required to make a concept car which runs on compressed air by means of a balloon motor .

The kit consists of chassis sheet, wheels, axle, bearings, scissor, scale, balloons, rubber bands etc.

Teachers and student volunteers were divided in groups of four each. In a group there were two Test Engineers, one Project Engineer and one Facility Engineer.

Under the guidance & training of Mr. Padmesh from Mahindra, teams made and tested the jet toy, teachers learned teaching technique to train students in line with Industry standards. Over and above, each group finally presented their toy & chart papers with a logo & slogan for their concept cars.

Now the trained student volunteers & teachers are ready to train school students and make them learn concepts on Automobiles which will make us achieve our Automotive Mission Plan -2016

The Eastern Zonal State level completion between 15 teams (3 best teams from each of the 5 school ) is scheduled on 23rd week of October ‘2011 .The final three teams selected from the Event will represent National Olympics in Delhi on 13th Nov’2011

Hope Eastern Zonal AWIM under the patronage of MCKVIE & KISWOK Industries (P) Ltd and support of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd will add to the Success stories of SAE India in years to come .
