Pre-Prep News From�previous�experience�we�know�Year�1�and�2�boys�will�be�challenged�with�their�shirt�buƩons,�especially�the�top�collar�buƩon,�and�tying�their�own�school�Ɵe�aŌer�half�term�when�winter�uniform�must�be�worn.�It�will�be�really�helpful�and�much�appreciated�if�you�can�spend�some�Ɵme�over�half�term�pracƟsing�these�skills�with�your�child.�BuƩons�may�need�to�be�reͲadjusted�to�leave�room�for�liƩle�fingers.�(In�many�cases�buƩons�have�been�sewn�on�too�Ɵghtly.)��

May�we�also�ask�that�you�take�the�opportunity�over�half�term�to�ensure�your�child’s�hair�meets�school�expecͲtaƟons.�A�reminder�from�the�Parents�Handbook—�Hair�should�be�kept�Ɵdy�and�trendy�styles�avoided�please.�Girls�must�use�hair�clips�or�bands�to�keep�long�hair�oī�the�face.�These�must�be�plain�white,�pink�or�brown�in�colour�and�hairbands�should�be�narrow.��

Winter�weather�may�be�with�us�from�November�so�please�ensure�fleece�hat,�gloves�and�scarf�are�clearly�named.�Thank�you�for�your�coͲoperaƟon.�Enjoy�half�term!��

��������������������������������������������������������ǡ������������On�Friday�10th�October�the�Green�Goblin�Team�were�invited,�through�a�contact�of�Mr�West�and�Cliīord�Thames,�to�visit�Quantel�Bifold�Racing�at�Brands�Hatch�to�meet�and�speak�to�their�BTCC�driver,�Marc�Hynes.��The�children�were�thrown�into�the�deep�end�as�they�were�seated�on�a�table�to�watch�the�Secretary�for�DeͲfence,�Michael�Fallon�(who�is�also�the�local�MP),�give�an�encouraging�talk�on�how�local�businesses�can�help�each�other�strive.���AŌer�lunch�we�were�transported�to�the�Garage/Pits�area�to�meet�with�Marc�Hynes.��Our�first�impression�was�how�tall�he�was�for�a�racing�driver.�AŌer�a�slightly�nervous�start�the�children�began�to�relax�as�Marc�showed�his�calming�nature,�answering�their�quesƟons�one�by�one.�Some�facts�the�children�found�out�included:�

x� His�car�has�a�0�Ͳ�62mph�in�4.5�secs�x� His�favourite�circuit�is�Macau�in�China��x� He�started�racing�when�he�was�10�years�old�

�Having�shown�Marc�our�porƞolio�he�spent�the�next�hour�talking�with�the�children�about�their�own�racing�exͲperiences�with�the�Green�Goblin�Kart.�One�and�a�half�hours�later,�Marc�suggested�that�we�visit�the�garage�to�see�his�car.�According�to�his�PA�he�could�only�imagine�speaking�with�the�children�for�about�10�minutes!��Transported�in�2�road�versions�of�Marc’s�car,�we�headed�oī�to�the�garage�where�he�spoke�with�individual�children�about�the�various�parts�of�the�car�and�then�invited�each�one�to�have�a�go�siƫng�in�the�drivers�seat,�explaining�what�the�many�controls�were.��This�was�a�truly�amazing�experience�for�the�children�and�as�a�reward�each�one�of�the�Goblin�team�received�a�special�goody�bag.�Our�thanks�got�to�Quantel�Bifold�Racing,�Mr�West�and�of�course�to�Marc�himself.��
