Mohsin Haider Darwish, an individual with amazing

foresight, sound analytical and practical skills, has

been the chief architect of Mohsin Haider Darwish

LLC. As Chairman of the company he has led it

remarkably to make it a force to reckon with in

the Sultanate of Oman. The pace at which the

organization has grown is an indication of his

phenomenal business acumen.

In addition to the above, Mr. Mohsin Haider Darwish

holds several key positions in the commercial and

industrial sectors. He is Sole Proprietor of MHD-

AVON and Fajar Perfumeries, in addition to being

Chairman of Special Oilfield Services Company

LLC and Darwish Polycon LLC in Oman, besides

Mohsin Haider Darwish LLC in Dubai. He is also

Deputy Chairman of Air Liquide Sohar Industrial

Gases (ALSIG) LLC. Mr. Darwish is also a Member

of the Board at Central Bank of Oman and Oman

Abrasives LLC, besides being a Director of Oman

International Development Co. LLC and United

Automotive Sales

D I V I S I O N

The Automotive Sales Division is one of the main

operating divisions of MHD LLC. The division

represents a range of automotive brands spanning

different segments.

Land Rover is famed the world over for its reliable

technology and advanced features. In Oman, it

was these four-wheel drive vehicles that helped

oilmen reach the lifeblood of the country in the

Marmul and Fuhud oilfields.

For nearly five decades, Land Rover has led the

world in four-wheel drive engineering. The Range

Rover and Land Rover vehicles are the finest

expression of this enviable heritage. Designed

without compromise to deliver a unique experience,

these vehicles have been created for those who

The Jaguar brand is one of the world’s greatest

The other introductions include the MG & BYD

automotive brands from China. While MG offers

a world of luxury and refined elegance, the BYD

brand is a price warrior offering value for money.

The division is also very active in the commercial

vehicles segment. It represents the Ashok Leyland

brand of trucks and buses from India, the CMC

brand of light commercial vehicles from Taiwan

and JMC commercial vehicles from China. All these

brands are characterized by their reliability and

value for money features.

The Automotive division also runs an Approved

Used Cars department which has been approved

by the Jaguar & Land Rover Select Used Car

programme. The Approved Used Cars department

deals in both franchise and non-franchise brands.

With branches at Salalah, Sur and Sohar, the

division is well-equipped to provide quality service

across the Sultanate.

Automotive Parts & Service

D I V I S I O N

Automotive Parts DepartmentThe Automotive Parts department is the sole

distributor for genuine parts and accessories for

all the automotive brands represented by the

Automotive Division in the Sultanate of Oman. It

is operated by a highly efficient management and

sales team trained by the manufacturers.

It operates on a fully computerized on-line system

for its network throughout the country maintaining

parts availability at almost 96% efficiency.

This ensures instant order input, parts order

information, availability status, prompt dispatch

and procurement. The Electronic Parts Catalogue

(EPC) system facilitates up-to-date data on parts

and accurate speedy identification to enhance

customer service.

The modern facilities of the Automotive Parts

department complement the automotive sales

functions of the company, and also arm the service

division to render prompt service.

The Automotive Parts department with its

operational hub in Azaiba is well supported with a

branch network in Wadi Kabir, Sohar, Salalah and

Sur, enabling it to cater to all the requirements of

its customers in the Sultanate.

The Automotive Parts department holds sole

agencies for various related vehicle accessories

and other diversified lines as well.

The lines of diversification include lubricants for

automotive and industrial applications, vehicle

paint and fabric protection products, vehicle speed

limiters, flat tyre protection systems, seat belts,

automotive beacon lamps and light bars. A separate

range of products include military uniforms, vehicle

canopies, military tents, net camouflage, traffic

cones etc. The Parts department thus offers services

and products to both civilian and defense sectors.

Automotive Service DepartmentThe Automotive Service department has one of the most modern infrastructures to provide its customers with the highest international standards of service. The Service department provides after-sales service for the complete range of vehicles represented by the division. It is operated by a

highly efficient management and technical team,

trained at the manufacturer’s training centres.

The Service department has a workshop, that

is fully equipped with modern diagnostic and

maintenance equipment, to provide a full range of

repair services that includes wheel alignment and

wheel balance. The department also has a state-

of-the-art paint booth and body repair facilities,

including a chassis straightening and measuring

system. The equipment deployed at the service

facilities complies in all respects to the vehicle

manufacturer’s recommendations.

The Automotive Service department also has four

more service workshops located in Wadi Kabir,

Sur, Sohar and Salalah. All the workshops are

well-equipped to provide after-sales service for

vehicles sold in those areas and the ones which

are in transit.

The Automotive Service department also operates

a Fire Vehicles & Equipment section which works

in close tandem with agencies including airports,

the oil industry, training colleges and the armed

forces to deliver spares, services, technical

advice and specialist equipment. Its other areas

of expertise include major / minor repairs and

total refurbishment of Airport Rescue Fire Fighting

Vehicles, Domestic and Industrial Fire Vehicles,

supply and installation of specialist Fire Fighting

equipment and the supply of Fire Fighting PPE

(Personal Protection Equipment).

Established 24 years ago, the Computers, Office

Automation and Telecommunications (COAT)

Division is focused on providing products and

services in the areas of IT, Office Automation,

Telecommunications and Office Furniture

solutions. The division has steadily grown from

modest beginnings into a core business wing of

the company.

The division has expertise in retail and direct

sales, and system integration to a wide range

of customers in the government sector, large

corporates, private sector and SMBs. The division

has a chain of retail outlets and has considerable

expertise in dealing with key retailers. The

division also has expertise in project management

and deals with infrastructure and valued added

services relating to the Telecom Sector. It works in

close co-ordination with Telecom service providers

in the country and provides various solutions.

The Office Automation business unit of COAT

division offers a diverse portfolio of Reprographic &

Office Equipment. It has in its range technologically

advanced colour and mono digital photocopier

machines, printers, fax machines, shredders,

laminating machines, binders, etc.

Apart from hardware, customers are offered

office automation solutions to integrate their

network devices including multifunction printers,

fax machines, etc for better control, monitoring,

auditing, diagnostics, security and efficiency.

The division today, is the market leader in the

multifunction / photocopier industry in Oman

with its rich portfolio of products backed with

comprehensive after-sales service network.

The division offers the latest range of audio visual

products and video conferencing equipments and

is actively offering consultancy for conference

room and meeting room integration projects. With

its latest launch of interactive audio visual teaching

technology products, the Office Automation

business unit is collaborating with universities and

schools to create ‘Smart Class Rooms’ within their

campus.

It has diversified into Electronic Document

Management Solutions with its strategic tie-up

with world leaders in the field of Document capture

and Management viz. – Kodak and Laserfiche.

The division is actively undertaking projects for

organizations to simplify the management of

their documents, reduce storage space, reduce

cost, increase the security of the documents and

improve their environmental efficiency by reducing

the dependence on paper.

The division has recently ventured into the Office

Furniture Solutions offering a wide range of office

furniture. It also carries out projects including

designing and walk-through presentations, and

implements the same with partitioning, ceilings,

electrical and flooring activities.

The division is backed by an experienced and

professional team with high expertise in the field

of office furniture solutions. It offers open office

system furniture, workstations, modular cabins

for private offices and ergonomic seating with

environment-friendly and green design products.

It has partnerships with some of the leading

brands in the industry from USA, UK, Italy, India,

Korea and Malaysia.

Telecom Trading is the flagship business unit of

the division and deals in providing mobile devices

and solutions from Nokia.

The division is one of the pioneers and is well

respected in the country for distribution of mobile

devices. It has a chain of company-owned Nokia

retail outlets and an extensive network of dealers

across the length and breadth of the country.

With the changing trend of devices being used

previously for pure communication purpose

into the current devices characterized by high

performance solutions, the division is now gearing

up to offer solution activators in its retail outlets.

The division has also diversified into distribution

of IT products. It has signed agreements with

Lenovo and Microsoft to distribute their products

in the entire country.

The division has identified the Security and

Surveillance segment as an important growth area

for its business. It has entered into a partnership

with world leaders in CCTV camera and perimeter

security like Mobotix, Cardex, and Proxim and

aims to be one of the largest system integrators

for security and surveillance products in

the country.

The division has also obtained ISO 9001: 2000

certification for its quality systems. With its

high quality product range and timely response,

the division intends to further consolidate the

Electrical & Electronics Division offers an extensive

weighing equipment and its management,

white goods, security systems, automation and

building hardware.

With over three decades of successful operation, the Engineering Products Division caters to a diverse clientele, offering a complete range of equipment from world-renowned brands.

The division which is ISO 9001 certified is equipped with a full-fledged sales office, dedicated workshop and extensive warehouse facilities with trained manpower.

The Engineering Products Division has the

following sections:

• Plant Section and Lease Hire SectionHandles sales and marketing of a wide range of products from global leaders in construction, drilling, road machinery, utility and material handling.

The brands represented include Ingersoll-Rand, Doppler, Winget, Tennant, Atlas Copco, Abus, F G Wilson, Mitsubishi, Ammann, Esquire, Kangbo, etc. The section is also actively involved in lease-hire of Portable Air Compressors, Forklifts, Generators, etc.

• Oil, Gas & Safety Services Section

Specializes in marketing, sales and service of a wide

range of products. These include marine hose, water

treatment and metering, steam-line accessories,

sludge treatment, hydro testing chemicals, airport

support equipment, firefighting, safety, security and

environmental equipment, clean room solutions,

various oil & gas process equipments like Gas

Conditioning Skid, etc. The section undertakes large

water desalination projects. It also takes up water

treatment projects ranging from 100 cum/day to

100,000 cum/day.

The brands represented include Rossmark, Spirax

Sarco, Maddalena, IRM, Intecna, Tuffking, Logan,

Dunlop Oil & Marine, Drager, Macron Safety

Systems, UK Fire, Nittan, J.D. Jones, Aquaswiss,

Kocken Energia, Envitec, etc.

This section has served the Oil & Gas sector,

drilling contractors, defense units, Government

ministries and various other organizations for

over two decades. It also conducts training on fire

safety equipment.

• Products Support Section

This section offers support for products supplied

by the Plant & Equipment / Oil & Gas sections

right from the pre-delivery inspection.

The section is staffed by well-trained and

dedicated manpower to meet the various service

requirements both at customer sites and at the

workshop for all equipments supplied by the

Plant / Oil & Gas sections.

Product support includes an elaborate warehouse

facility to meet the parts requirements of

franchise equipment.

Gases, Chemicals & Medical Equipment

D I V I S I O N

The MHD Gases, Chemicals & Medical Equipment Division is the pioneer in the manufacturing of Industrial, Medical and Fuel Gases, operating one of the largest Oxygen/Nitrogen, Carbon Dioxide and Acetylene plants in the Sultanate of Oman.

The division is the largest manufacturer and exporter of Carbon Dioxide, Liquid Oxygen/Nitrogen and is the distributor for Liquefied Petroleum Gas in both cylinders and bulk form. The division also installs onsite storage tanks and plants at bulk customers’ premises to guarantee an uninterrupted supply.

The division is a major manufacturer of CO2 in the entire Gulf region supplying almost 60% of the UAE’s requirement from Muscat. The division also has two Nitrogen plants in Sohar in a joint venture with Air Liquide of France. These have a production capacity of 400 tons of Nitrogen per day.

Stringent quality control and strict adherence to international standards has won the GCME division the ISO 9002 accreditation in 1996 and the coveted ‘His Majesty’s Trophy for one of the five best factories in Oman’ for 1997, 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006, as well as the Shield of Excellence in 2007.

The division also has an embedded HSE policy in place, emphasizing mostly on transportation & HSE requirements. A Corporate HSE and Training Manager as well as an HSE official at the Divisional level are available full time for satisfactory implementation of HSE standards at the division.

MHD–GCME Division with its full-fledged technical team and support services has successfully supplied, installed and commissioned many bulk Nitrogen / Oxygen / Argon / CO2 & LPG Systems.The trading section offers a wide range of other gases. These include Argon, new generation refrigerants R-140A, R-417A, R-134A, 404A, 407C & R-22, Ammonia and ultra high purity gases, besides instrument gases from Air Liquide UK for industries, laboratory and research applications.

GCME is the exclusive distributor for Murex Welding Products Ltd. UK and CEA, Italy for welding equipment and consumables. The division also represents Victor (USA) range of gas equipment, Tescom (USA) range of regulators and pressure control systems, besides regulating and analysing equipment manufactured by RMG, Germany.

The Chemicals section offers a variety of bulk process chemicals, specialities and allied products finding applications in several industries including manufacture of Aluminium products, Chemicals, Sulpho Chemicals, Detergents, Fertilizers, Fibreglass, Food & Beverages, Paints & Plastics. The Printing Industry, Petrochemical Manufacturers, Packaging Industry, Refineries, Wastewater Treatment Plants and others are also catered to by the division.

GCME deals with leading chemical manufacturers and suppliers around the globe. The customers include ministries, governmental organizations, manufacturing companies and service providers in the private sector. The section has a competent technical team and management support to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

GCME carries out servicing and refilling of CO2 and FM-200 extinguishers as well as hydro testing and refurbishing of all types of cylinders and refilling of CO2 cartridges.

With a full-fledged technical team and support services, the division has successfully supplied, installed and commissioned Piped Medical Gas systems, Bed-head units and Nurse Call systems for all major hospitals in the country.

The prestigious contract for supply and installation of Industrial Gas facilities in the Oman Dry Dock project in Duqm is another highlight in the division’s achievements.

the Projects & Building Materials Division has

established itself as a reliable, quality source for

the major and minor construction activities in the

ProjectsThe Projects department offers world-class

equipment backed up by a responsive after-sales

service. The products and services offered by the

department include HVAC, Building Management

Systems, Commercial Kitchens, Modular Kitchen,

Laundry Equipment, Refrigeration and Cold Rooms,

Cleaning Solutions, Shelving and Warehousing

Solutions, etc. For coordinated operations the

products and services are split into various sections:

• Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning and Building Management Systems Section

Undertakes turnkey projects for the supply,

installation and commissioning of various types

of air conditioning equipment including chillers,

window / split / ducted air conditioners and

ventilation equipment. The section also provides

integrated Building Management Systems.

• Commercial Refrigeration SectionUndertakes design, supply, installation and

commissioning of cold rooms, blast freezers, ice

plants and related equipment for industrial and

commercial establishments, supermarkets, hotels,

restaurants, etc.

• Shelving & Warehousing SectionProvides total storage solutions such as shelving

systems, pallet racking systems, pallet trucks

and other material handling equipment and also

undertakes turnkey contracts for installation of the

same at warehouses, storage depots, hospitals and

other industrial premises.

• Industrial Catering and Laundry SectionHandles supply, installation and commissioning

of equipment for hotels, restaurants and catering

facilities and labour camps. Also markets a variety of

small and large machines useful in restaurants, bars

and other catering outlets. Cleaning solutions and

contracts are also provided for industrial laundries,

hotels and kitchens.

• Air Conditioning / BMS & Refrigeration Service SectionManages a team of highly qualified, factory trained

engineers and technicians to install, commission,

test and certify equipment marketed by the division.

The section also undertakes long-term contracts. A

large warehouse of spare parts with a computerized

inventory system handles all customer requirements.

The Tyres & Batteries Division of Mohsin Haider

Darwish LLC offers a comprehensive range of tyres,

tyre accessories, batteries and related services.

The product line handled by the division includes

world-renowned products such as Michelin,

BF Goodrich, SAVA, Federal, Hero, Infinity &

BKT Tyres, NBC & Optima Batteries as well as

HATCO & Schrader Accessories. All the products

of the division are backed by professional

after-sales service.

In order to enhance its after-sales service, the

Tyres & Batteries Division has established a retail

network under the brand name ‘TYRE PLUS’ across

the Sultanate of Oman. ‘TYRE PLUS’ is a Michelin

owned franchise which provides a range of quality

automotive products at various price levels as well

as related services like tyre fitment and removal,

electronic wheel balancing, wheel alignment,

tyre repairs, quick lube service as well as battery

service through technically trained staff.

The Tyres & Batteries Division of Mohsin Haider

Darwish LLC has also entered into a joint venture

agreement with Michelin and two other partners

from UAE to establish a state-of-the-art tyre

retreading facility - Gulf Retreading Solutions LLC.

This facility has adopted the Michelin patented

process ‘REMIX’ which is the most successful

retreading process worldwide. Fleet owners

across Oman can look forward to further lowering

their cost per kilometre on tyres by increasing the

life of tyre casings and consequently reduce tyre

disposal and help save the environment.
