Multi-Cell BalancingHybrid Electric, Plug-in Hybrid Electric and Electric Vehicle (HEV/PHEV/EV) Battery Management SolutionsIntersil’s ISL78600 and ISL78610 automotive grade Li-Ion battery management and safety monitoring chipset solution is specifically designed to meet the stringent safety, reliability and performance requirements of next generation Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) and Electric Vehicle (EV) applications.
The automotive grade (AEC-Q100), ISL78600 12-cell battery pack manager can be used as a standalone part in ASIL compliant systems, deployed in conjunction with the complimentary ISL78610 for higher ASIL ratings or in systems requiring an independent backup solution. The devices provide built-in fault detection for all of their major internal functions and detect external faults such as open wire, over and under voltage as well as temperature and cell balancing faults to mitigate battery pack failures.
The highly integrated functionality of the ISL78600 and ISL78610 offers a number of benefits and can significantly reduce the overall battery management costs of HEV/PHEV/EV battery packs and their associated systems.

ISL78693Battery Charger Extends Backup Battery Life of Automotive eCall SystemsIntersil’s ISL78693 single-cell battery charger extends the life of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries used in automotive emergency call (eCall) systems. The battery charger offers up to 4x lower leakage current (3µA) than competitive chargers, allowing the eCall backup battery to remain charged for a longer period of time.
The ISL78693’s battery temperature monitoring and low 3.6V output voltage helps safeguard and extend the life of popular LiFePO4 batteries.

Advanced Display Controllers
Intersil’s TW88xx automotive infotainment display IC product line is defi ned by feature rich, highly integrated semiconductor solutions that incorporate many key function blocks for front console, rear seat entertainment, and rear camera display applications. The product family includes an analog video decoder, high quality H/V scaler, 2D de-interlacer, and embedded timing controllers. In addition, certain TW88xx products include advanced technologies such as a 3D adaptive comb fi lter, 3D noise reduction, an embedded MCU, a touchscreen controller, bit-map OSD, graphic overlay with alpha blending, PIP/POP, dual view display support, and a LVDS panel interface to directly drive high resolution OpenLDI (LVDS) LCD panels.
The TW88xx product line is designed for OEM Automotive applications and therefore support -40˚C to +85˚C or +105˚C operating temperature ranges. All products listed in this section are AEC-Q100 qualifi ed.

TW9992Video Decoder with MIPI-CSI2 Output Interface Supports Next-Generation SoCs The TW9992 is an analog video decoder which features an integrated MIPI-CSI2 output interface that provides compatibility with the newest SoC processors. The decoder’s MIPI-CSI2 interface simplifi es design by making it easier to interface with SoCs, while also lowering the system’s EMI profi le. The TW9992 decoder takes both single-ended and diff erential composite video inputs from a vehicle’s backup safety camera, and is the latest addition to Intersil’s video decoder product family for automotive applications.
