But putting ideas into practice is a time-consuming process. This time, Rosa has a very tight timeline to invent a very special machine. She will need all the help she can get! Getting ready to read • Show students the cover and draw attention to the title. Then scan through the book, paying special attention to the illustrations. Invite students to make predictions about the main character and write them on the board. The vocabulary • Use pictures and/or examples to introduce the vocabulary. Then play a game of Hangman on the board to practice the words. • Ask students to use their knowledge of the meaning of punta and agudo to predict the meaning of puntiagudo. Other examples in the text include altavoz, apoyabrazos, and rascacielos. • Point out the word repiqueteos on p. 17 and ask students to say it aloud. Explain that it is an example of onomatopoeia—a word that mimics the sound it describes. Other examples in the text include chasquidos, ronroneos, and zumbidos. • Point out the noun tubo (pipe) on p. 16 and help students distin- guish it from the verb tuvo (he/she had).
Rosa

éxito la misión. Y, junto con las Remachadoras, redescubre el
significado del hogar.
