destination in Asia. Austria’s red-white-red flag carrier operates a

Modul offers tourism education in China according to Austrian standards

The new MODUL School of Tourism and Hospitality Management Nanjing

opened its doors. The first 57 Chinese students were received at the new

MODUL School of Tourism and Hospitality Management Nanjing in October

2016. These students get the opportunity to study under Austrian educational

standards to complete an English-language Bachelor's degree with the

MODUL University Vienna in the field of tourism management at the Nanjing

Rail Cargo Group transports heavy industrial boilers from Austria to Xian

Rail instead of sea! The Austrian Rail Cargo Group has been working with Hoval, a full-service supplier of

smart heating and ventilation systems, to transport its central-heating and steam boilers by rail instead of

sea transport all the way from Marchtrenk (Austria) to Xian (China). The Austrian Railways’ (ÖBB) freight

division brings in lots of international logistics experience to realise the transport along a complex route

First Hong Kong - Vienna music festival launched this August

The first “Hong Kong – Vienna Music Festival” organised by the Vienna

Boys Choir Music Academy Foundation (VBMAF) and supported by

ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA and others was successfully launched in Hong Kong

this August. At this occasion, also plans to establish a first overseas

location for the Vienna Boys Choir were announced. Read further

Austria Connect Greater China 2016 Conference, Guangzhou 20th – 22nd October 2016

Austrian companies with subsidiaries in China and their trusted

partners met in Guangzhou for their annual conference. China is

the most important trading partner of Austria in Asia. Austrian

exports to China increased by another 6.5% in the first half of 2016.

Over 650 Austrian companies are already present with over 900

subsidiaries in China. According to the most recent ADVANTAGE

AUSTRIA poll, a reassuring 82 % of Austrian companies invested in

Austria Showcase: Environmental Technology and Resource Efficiency in Guangzhou 24th October 2016

Nine Austrian companies presented their advanced environmental

technologies to a 90-person professional audience from local environmental

industries, trade agents, institutes and associations. Organized by

ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Guangzhou, the Austrian participants also had

individual meetings with around 30 Chinese environmental companies and

discussed cooperation opportunities during the B2B session. In the afternoon,

the Austrian environmental delegation visited the Environmental Protection

Bureau of Guangzhou to learn about local environmental development plans

and inspire the city government to use Austrian environmental technologies. Read further

Guangzhou Institute of Measuring and Testing Technology (GIMT) signed a

cooperation agreement with the renowned Seibersdorf Laboratory

(Austria) and the local experts of ATS Ltd. As an accredited calibration

center for almost 25 years, Seibersdorf Labor possesses extensive

experience and knowledge on validation and re-validation services,

market access and references. Furthermore, it provides training for GIMT

in order to offer their quality standard, which is appreciated worldwide. At

the ceremony, Dietmar Schwank expressed his confidence about the
