History

Statehood: In 1807 Canadian David Thompson established a trading post near Lake Pend.

In 1860 gold was discovered in Northern Idaho.

In 1874 the first railroad arrived in Idaho. In 1890, Idaho became the 43rd state.

Colleges/Universities and Places to Visit. Two colleges are College of Idaho, located in the

city of Caldwell and Idaho State University, located in the city of Pocatello.

One place to visit in Idaho is Ghost Town. Ghost Town one bustled with activity but were abandoned after miners had worked out the nearby veins of gold and silver.

Idaho's capital Boise has numerous event, parks, and many museums. For example, there is the Idaho State House, The Basque Museum, and The Cultural Center.
