JESUS HEALS

HEALED OF CYSTIC FIBROSIS

My son Elijah is whole, healthy, and blessed.

Four days after he was born, my baby's Dr. called me and let me

know that Elijahs newborn screen had come back positive for CYS-

TIC FIBROSIS. Naturally my mind was racing with all sorts of

negative thoughts. But suddenly I heard in my mind "By His

Stripes ye were healed."

My Doctor informed me that I should take Eiljah to Rochester

Mayo as soon as possible, and proceeded to set up an appointment

for me that Friday.

I refused to be moved by what I was hearing in the natural. They

informed me, that Elijah would need medication, that he would not

live past age 30, that his lungs could fill up with fluid, and that his

intestines would not function properly.

On July 18th 2008 I had Elijah prayed for by Pastor Rory at the

Prayer & Healing Center after the Healing School. Service.

I then took him over to Mayo Clinic for his appointment. A team

of Doctors did a series of tests. A sweet test, blood tests, vitamin

tests, fat tests, and all kinds of medical tests to determine their next

course of action.

The following Monday I went back in for the results. At that point

the team of Doctors informed me that both Elijahs father and I were

carriers of CYSTIC FIBROSIS. So in the world of genetics a child

born with both parents who are carries of CF is guaranteed to have

CYSTIC FIBROSIS. And that child would also have a one and

four chance of having aggressive CF.

Having said that, all of Elijahs tests came back NORMAL! Elijah

has no signs or symptoms of CF.

Jehovah cannot lie! He is my God that heals! The Doctors assigned

to my baby cannot figure this out. He should have CF, but he

doesn't. They call him their mystery baby.

They informed me that Elijah is the second person in Mayo history

to have these results. Praise the Lord!! MY JESUS HEALS!!

PROPHECY WATCH

Well, the Word of the Lord came to me, saying, “You’ve known Me and do know Me as your Lord and your Savoir. And many, many of you and many, many others know Me as Bap-tizer in the Holy Ghost. You know Me and have known Me for a long time as your heal-er, as your deliverer. Many of you have come to trust Me and know Me,” saith the Lord, “as your chief financial officer, as the source for your heavenly and earthly blessings in this life. You’ve known Me and do know Me as your very contact with the Father Himself.

Ah, but very soon, much sooner than any

of you think, much sooner than any of you know, you’re about to know Me as the great Res-urrection. Hallelujah. It’s here. It’s upon us. I’m telling you the catching away of the church. The raising resurrection. The great glorification of the Body of Christ. Oh, I tell, I hear it again. No, it’s closer than that. And how-

ever close you think it is, it’s closer than that. It is at hand,” saith the Lord. “Prepare yourself. Get ready, and help Me get oth-ers ready because the time is here. All that you’ve believed for is coming to pass very, very shortly.”

‘You’ve Known Me!’

The Word of the Lord came to me saying “Watch your mouth, watch your mouth. Pay little to no at-tention what you see on the news media. Watch your mouth. This conflict in Iraq is not getting worse, it’s not coming up to where we are going to be defeat-ed and the armies of the All Mighty God are not going to be defeated there. “And I’ll tell you this,” saith the Lord, “it’s closer to being over than it ever has been and you’re going to see a turn around there and you’re going to see the hand of the Lord and you’re going to see it very soon.” Hallelujah. Oh praise God. “Stop basing your conversation and your at-titude and what you think about a thing or what you don’t think about a thing,” saith the Lord, “by what the world says or by what the news media says or by what your next door

neighbor says. I am in charge here and I will see this thing through, and I’ll see it through in your be-half. And it will be a good thing and it will be in your favor.” Hallelujah. Glory to God. Bless the Lord God.

“I have people praying in places you’ve never heard of before.” I’ll tell you this. I’m telling you this by the Holy Ghost. I just heard Him say this just now. “I have troops in Iraq and in Afghanistan and in other stations around the world. I have troops that know how to pray. I have officers and non-coms that know how to pray. I have people sta-tioned,” saith the Lord, “and I am at work. Don’t make your words stout against Me or the troops that I have called into the field. For you are about to see a marvel-ous and miraculous thing.” Glory. Hallelujah. Amen.

in this and provide the humor in it all.

There is quite a bit of violence but most of the casualties are non human. No blood or guts just sparks and droid pieces. There is one scene where the decapitated heads of non human characters are presented. Padme is pushed around a little but not hurt.

There is a new evil female char-acter called Ventress who fares to be quite scary and may scare smaller children. She wears a low cut blouse or halter in some of the scenes.

The extent of profanity in the mov-ie is one ‘damn’. Other than that the worst is ‘scum’ which is uttered a few times and they call the hut-let ‘stinky’. Twice you hear Anakin say ‘I hate the huts’.

There is a female alien who dances in front of Jabba. She is dressed in what seems to be either skin with no details or a full body suit. I think she is there for his enjoyment but didn’t seem sexual.

There are two things that bothered me the most. Ashoka is very pretty and likable. (I personally am glad to finally see a female Jedi.) But she is dressed in a tank top (no straps, belly showing) and mini skirt. Her skin is orange, so it doesn’t come off sexual, but it is still disturbing and not necessary to me (I have two young boys). She wears white tights, red knee high boots, black and white striped hair and bears an uncanny resemblance to Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen.

The other is Jabba the Hut’s ‘un-cle’ Zero. Many times they refer to him as ‘uncle,’ but he is purple, talks like a woman (a southern woman), wears what looks like feathers on his head and has his entire body tattooed. Both of my boys looked at me with confusion when he showed up, looking like a cross between Nathan Lane in The Birdcage and Ouiser (Shirley McLaine) in Steel Magnolias.

Overall, I loved this movie and will be buying it when it comes out.

In this installation of the Lucas legacy (which is to be the kick off of a 100 episode television

cartoon show) Anakin Skywalker gets a female padiwan, Ashoka Tano. She is willful, sarcastic and disrespectful which doesn’t seem to flow with what we have been taught about how Jedi’s in train-ing should act. She is, however, except for one thing (mentioned later), quite likable and skillful. It does make sense however that Anakin would get a difficult padi-wan considering he was also a difficult padiwan. She is chosen for him by Obi Wan.

Anakin and Ashoka are on a mis-sion to rescue Jabba the Hut’s son who turns out to be a quite cute baby hutlet. Most of the film follows Anakin, Ashoka, R2D2

and the hutlet. Yoda shows up a few times with Mace Windu as does Padme towards the end who lends a hand in saving the day. Some other old favorites who show up are Chancellor Palpatine , Darth Sideous, Count Dooku and C3PO.

Overall, the story flows very well. It is interesting enough to keep adults engaged but not so de-tailed the kids are looking at you going ‘what?’.

The effects were... well... effec-tive. One of my pet peeves with cartoons these days is the editing is so fast I cant understand what is going on and it ends up giving me a headache. The editing in this film was spot on, very engag-ing but not so fast you got lost in the hustle and bustle of it all.

Anakin, Obi Wan and even Ashoka are all rockin in their Jedi skills!

The worker droids are very funny

PASTOR'S CORNER

“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it and have dominion over …the earth.” (Genesis 1:28)

The first thing that God did when He created His family was to BLESS them. The word BLESS here in Genesis 1:28 means “Empowered to prosper.” God lit-erally gave His family HIS POWER. That is what the blessing of the Lord is. HIS BLESSING is HIS POWER, or HIS ABIL-ITY on our lives

Many people confuse the blessing of God with material wealth, healing and favor. But the blessing of God is actually the Lord empowering your life to get the wealth, healing and favor.

When seeking the blessing of God, we shouldn’t be seeking the tangible things that can be seen. We should be seeking His presence instead. Why? Because in His presence is where we find His power, His blessing. (Habakkuk 3:4)

That’s what Adam and Eve had. They had the PRESENCE of the FATHER in their lives. When sin entered, Gods presence, & His blessing left.

Since that time God has been providing ways to get the blessing back to His fam-ily. You see man was created to live in the blessing of God. This blessing, this empowerment of God, is His ability to replenish what the kingdom of darkness depletes from our lives.

In the Garden of Eden, it was through Gods blessing, that man was able to be fruitful, multiply and replenish the earth.

One of the primary ways of receiving and releasing Gods blessing in our lives is through our act of giving. In Malachi 3:10 we read: “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now here-with, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and

pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”

Notice the Lord says that when you give your tithe, He pours you out a BLESSING! He didn’t say blessings, He said blessing, singular. So the purpose of giving the tithe, is to receive the blessing of God.

Now look at Deuteronomy 8:18 we read “But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee P0WER (or the BLESSING) to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant. . .” The op-ponents to the prosperity message argue that God does not give you wealth. But as we can see here from Deut. 8:18, God gives you HIS POWER, HIS BLESSING, HIS ABILITIY, TO GET THE WEALTH!

Simply put, Gods bless-ing, is His ability to get wealth. Proverbs 10:22 declares, ”The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich and He addeth no sorrow with it.”

The reason God gives us His power to get wealth, is so that we can establish His covenant in the earth. It is so that we can begin replenishing the earth with

His Kingdom. I encourage you today to continue being an active giver. The more you give, the more your able to receive the blessing and pow-er of God in your life. The more power and blessing of God that you receive in your life, the more ability you have to get the wealth you need

You and I were never created to live with-out the BLESSING. This is one of the provi-sions that Jesus Christ made through His death burial and resurrection.

He brought us back to the BLESSING of God. Ephesians 1:2 says “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.”

If you have not done so, I implore you, accept Jesus Christ, as your Lord and Savior, come on back home to your real family, and begin receiving the BLESSING of your Father today!

A Few Declarations of Found-ing Fathers and Early States-men on Jesus, Christianity, and the Bible (This list is by no means exhaustive; many other Founders could be includ-ed, and even with those who appear be-low, additional quotes could have been used.) John AdamsSIGNER OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE; JUDGE; DIPLOMAT; ONE OF TWO SIGNERS OF THE BILL OF RIGHTS; SECOND PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity. I will avow that I then believed, and now believe, that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immu-table as the existence and attributes of God.

The Holy Ghost carries on the whole Christian system in this earth. Not a baptism, not a marriage, not a sacra-ment can be administered but by the Holy Ghost. . . . There is no authority, civil or religious – there can be no legiti-mate government but what is adminis-tered by this Holy Ghost. There can be no salvation without it. All without it is rebellion and perdition, or in more ortho-dox words damnation.

Without religion, this world would be something not fit to be mentioned in po-lite company: I mean hell. The Christian religion is, above all the religions that ever prevailed or existed in ancient or modern times, the religion of wisdom, virtue, equity and humanity.

Suppose a nation in some distant region should take the Bible for their only law

book and every member should regulate his conduct by the precepts there exhibit-ed. . . . What a Eutopia – what a Paradise would this region be! I have examined all religions, and the re-sult is that the Bible is the best book in the world. John Quincy Adams SIXTH PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES; DIPLOMAT; SECRETARY OF STATE; U. S. SENATOR; U. S. REPRE-SENTATIVE; “OLD MAN ELOQUENT”; “HELL-HOUND OF ABOLITION”

My hopes of a future life are all founded upon the Gospel of Christ and I cannot cavil or quibble away [evade or object to]. . . . the whole tenor of His conduct by which He sometimes positively asserted and at others countenances [permits] His disciples in asserting that He was God. The hope of a Christian is inseparable from his faith. Whoever believes in the Divine inspiration of the Holy Scriptures must hope that the religion of Jesus shall prevail throughout the earth. Never since the foundation of the world have the pros-pects of mankind been more encouraging to that hope than they appear to be at the present time. And may the associated dis-tribution of the Bible proceed and prosper till the Lord shall have made “bare His holy arm in the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salva-tion of our God” [Isaiah 52:10]. In the chain of human events, the birthday of the nation is indissolubly linked with the birthday of the Savior. The Declaration of Independence laid the cornerstone of hu-man government upon the first precepts of Christianity.

Samuel AdamsSIGNER OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE; “FATHER OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION”; RATIFIER OF THE U. S. CONSTITUTION; GOVER-NOR OF MASSACHUSETTS

I . . . [rely] upon the merits of Jesus Christ for a pardon of all my sins.

The name of the Lord (says the Scripture) is a strong tower; thither the righteous flee and are safe [Proverbs 18:10]. Let us se-cure His favor and He will lead us through the journey of this life and at length re-ceive us to a better.

I conceive we cannot better express our-selves than by humbly supplicating the Supreme Ruler of the world . . . that the confusions that are and have been among

the nations may be overruled by the pro-moting and speedily bringing in the holy and happy period when the kingdoms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ may be everywhere established, and the people willingly bow to the scepter of Him who is the Prince of Peace.

He also called on the State of Massachu-

setts to pray that . . . • the peaceful and glorious reign of our Divine Redeemer may be known and enjoyed throughout the whole family of mankind. • we may with one heart and voice humbly implore His gracious and free par-don through Jesus Christ, supplicating His Divine aid . . . [and] above all to cause the religion of Jesus Christ, in its true spirit, to spread far and wide till the whole earth

shall be filled with His glory.

• with true contrition of heart to confess their sins to God and implore for-giveness through the merits and media-tion of Jesus Christ our Savior.

Josiah Bartlett MILITARY OFFICER; SIGNER OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE; JUDGE; GOVERNOR OF NEW HAMP-SHIRE

Called on the people of New Hampshire . . . to confess before God their aggra-vated transgressions and to implore His pardon and forgiveness through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ . . . On the mercy of my Redeemer I rely for salvation and on His merits, not on the works I have done in obedience to His precepts. Grateful to Almighty God for the blessings which, through Jesus Christ Our Lord, He had conferred on my beloved country in her emancipation and on myself in permit-ting me, under circumstances of mercy, to live to the age of 89 years, and to sur-vive the fiftieth year of independence, adopted by Congress on the 4th of July 1776, which I originally subscribed on the 2d day of August of the same year and of which I am now the last surviving signer. I, Charles Carroll. . . . give and bequeath my soul to God who gave it, my body to the earth, hoping that through and by the merits, sufferings, and mediation of my only Savior and Jesus Christ, I may be admitted into the Kingdom prepared by God for those who love, fear and truly serve Him.

Let us enter on this important business under the idea that we are Christians on whom the eyes of the world are now turned… [L]et us earnestly call and be-seech Him, for Christ’s sake, to preside in our councils. . . . We can only depend on the all powerful influence of the Spirit of God, Whose Divine aid and assistance it becomes us as a Christian people most devoutly to implore. Therefore I move that some minister of the Gospel be requested to attend this Congress every morning . . . in order to open the meeting with prayer. A letter to his daughter: You have been instructed from your child-hood in the knowledge of your lost state by nature – the absolute necessity of a change of heart and an entire renovation of soul to the image of Jesus Christ – of sal-vation through His meritorious righteous-ness only – and the indispensable neces-sity of personal holiness without which no man shall see the Lord [Hebrews 12:14]. You are well acquainted that the most perfect and consummate doctrinal knowl-edge is of no avail without it operates on and sincerely affects the heart, changes the practice, and totally influences the will – and that without the almighty power of the Spirit of God enlightening your mind, subduing your will, and continually draw-

ing you to Himself, you can do nothing. . . . And may the God of your parents (for many generations past) seal instruction to your soul and lead you to Himself through the blood of His too greatly despised Son, Who notwithstanding, is still reclaiming the world to God through that blood, not imputing to them their sins. To Him be glory forever!

For nearly half a century have I anxiously and criti-cally studied that invaluable treasure [the Bible]; and I still scarcely ever take it up that I do not find something new – that I do not receive some valu-able addition to my stock of knowledge or perceive some instructive fact never observed before. In short, were you to ask me to recommend the most valuable book in the world, I should fix on the Bible as the most instructive both to the wise and ignorant. Were you to ask me for one af-fording the most rational and pleasing en-tertainment to the inquiring mind, I should repeat, it is the Bible; and should you re-new the inquiry for the best philosophy or the most interesting history, I should still

in previous years because of Sen. Barack Obama, who is outspoken about his Christian faith.

“Two conventions ago, [Demo-crats] had no sensitivity to reli-gious people,” Waldman said. “Last conven-tion, they had a little bit. They had this kind of rump operation that was trying to reach out to religious people, but it was kind of poignant.”

Whether the Republican conven-tion will have the kind of evan-gelical-celebrity quotient it had in the past remains to be seen. At press time, the Republicans had yet to release official plans for the early September convention, but spokeswoman Yohana de la Torre said many faith-based organiza-tions will be involved. Christian musicians Michael W. Smith and Third Day performed at the 2004 convention, and pastors Max Lucado and Greg Laurie offered opening and closing prayers.

Ralph Reed, former director of the Christian Coalition, said the

Republican National Convention has historically been an impor-tant place for many conservative Christian groups to network with-in the party and make sure their issues are included in the par-

ty’s platform. He doesn’t believe the D e m o c r a t s ’ outreach will work.

“Imitation is the highest

form of flattery,” Reed said. “But you don’t win voters because you quote a verse; you win by having the same values.”

Waldman wonders whether evangelicals will be represented on the podium and how that will shape Sen. John McCain’s im-age.

“There’s this conventional wis-dom that McCain is unpopular among evangelicals. He’s un-popular among evangelical lead-ers, but not necessarily among rank and file,” Waldman said. “McCain is going to want to see this kind of concern among reli-gious conservatives evaporate by then.”

At a huge outdoor rally in the Georgian capital of Tbili-si, Saakashvili mentioned

what McCain had said about American support, and the crowd applauded.

D e m o c r a t Barack Obama also issued another state-ment through his campaign: “Now is the time for ac-tion – not just words. It is past time for the Russian gov-ernment to immediately sign and implement a cease-fire. Russia must halt its violation of Georgian airspace and withdraw its ground forces from Georgia, with interna-tional monitors to verify that these obligations are met.”

McCain has long been more stri-dent on Russia than President Bush. Bush once said he looked into Putin’s eyes and saw his soul as a “straightforward and trust-

worthy” man, McCain likes to say: “I looked into Mr. Putin’s eyes and I saw three things -- a K and a G and a B.”

“I don’t think there’s any doubt who is still by far the most powerful and

influential per-son in Russia,” McCain told WITF radio in H a r r i s b u r g , Pa., saying that Putin has “per-sonal control” of the military.Of course we have to deal with Russia and we deal

with Putin,” McCain said. “But it has to be on a very realistic basis. And not one that there’s any illusions about his ambitions.”

And those ambitions including re-storing Russia’s czarist prominence. “I think it’s very clear that Russian ambitions are to restore the old Russian Empire,” he said in the ra-dio interview. “Not the Soviet Union, but the Russian Empire.”

When my children were younger, as I would say my goodbyes to them as they went to school, I would always remind them that they are a light. We would pray about that everyday. We would pray that they would walk like a light, talk like a light, and act like a light, that every place that they would go and all that they do, that they would be a light.

Just what kind of light do you suppose I am talking about? Is it the kind of light that you turn on the switch when you go into a dark room? Or maybe it’s a flashlight? No. Neither one of these lights are the kind of lights that I want my children to be. The light that I am referring to for my children (and me too) is the light of God’s love. We are to show, walk, talk, and act God’s love. The Bible says that Jesus is the light of the world. Jesus is love. He lives in us. God tells us that we are also a light-just like Jesus was. That’s exactly what our Bible verse says today, isn’t it?

What does a light do? A light helps you find things. A light helps you so that you don’t stumble and fall. A light also helps you see things better. A light is helpful for many things. Since it’s late at night, I couldn’t see right now if I didn’t have a light. I need light so that I can see what I am doing. I use the lights in my home every single day - many times a day.

Remember that this light that we are to

shine and share is God’s love living in us. God says that you are a light. This light (God’s love) in you will help others find God. This light will also help others so that

they don’t slip and fall. As a result of shining your light, others will see God better.

Just think about it. You, dear one, may be the only light that others will see. You are Jesus in this earth to those that do not know Him. Walk in love. Don’t forget to smile. Use those manners. Think of others before yourself. Share. Be kind. Be patient.

All of these things are letting your light shine for Jesus. How can

others see Jesus if we hide these good deeds? They can’t, can they? We are to let it shine and glow for all the world to see.

Get your light charged up by reading your Bible and spending time with God. And shine on, dear saint! Let it glow...let it sizzle, and let it burn!

thority. It is part of your salva-tion package. To not walk in it is to remain defeated. That’s like someone giving you an expensive gift and you refus-ing to open it. You’ll never partake of the contents of that gift if you don’t receive it. The same is true with the Believer’s authority.

You must receive it by faith and then exercise it every chance you get. When Satan sees that you are profi-cient and confident in your authority, he won’t know the dif-ference between you and Jesus.

As part of the body of Christ, your position of authority is unde-niable. Ephesians 1:20-23 says: Which he wrought in

Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in the world to come: and hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

All things have been placed un-der your feet. In fact, you are so far above Satan and his demonic forces that he can’t touch you unless you give him access. Jesus has already conquered the devil, and you are seated in the same place of victory with him.

In order to use your authority success-fully, you’ll have to meditate on the Word of God until your heart is established on God’s promises. This will produce faith in your spirit. Then, when you speak the Word of God, power is released that causes things to change in your life.

The ability to rearrange situations and circumstances is in your mouth. The Scripture says that demons and sickness were banished from people’s lives because of one word that Jesus spoke (Matt. 8:8-16, 32). That same power and authority lies in your mouth, too.

Don’t wait another day to start walking in your rightful place

as a Christian. Meditate on the Word of God and become profi-

cient at wielding the sword of the Spirit. When you know who you are and Whose you are, nothing can come against you and suc-ceed—that’s what I call power!

Page 10 FREEDOM

Did you know that you have been au-thorized by God? By that I mean that you have been given power, or divine authority, to rule over every situation and circumstance you encounter.

Having continual victory over the devil depends on whether or not you understand your position in Christ and appropriate the power that has been given to you.

As a child of God, you have been translated out of the kingdom of darkness and into the kingdom of God’s Son, Jesus. You are no longer subject to the law of sin and death that governs the world’s system.

As an unbeliever, you had no choice but to submit to Satan’s rule; you were under his jurisdiction and had no authority over him. However, the moment you accepted Jesus into your heart, everything changed. On that day, God authorized you to tread on all of the power of the enemy in the name of Jesus (Luke 10:19).

To take advantage of your God-given au-thority as a Believer, you must first under-stand your spiritual position from God’s viewpoint. Ephesians 2:4-6 says, “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together...and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus...”

There is no reason for you to live below the standards God has set for you. Lack, sickness, poverty and bondage to demonic oppression have no place in the life of a Christian. You have been given a royal position in God’s eyes because you are seated in heavenly places with Jesus!

That’s good news! It means that if you are being whipped by the devil, it’s because you either don’t know your rights or you aren’t taking the initiative to exercise them.

Because of the creative power invested in the Word of God, and because you have been created in God’s image and likeness as a speaking spirit (Genesis 1:27), you have the authority to speak to any situation that doesn’t line up with the Word and com-mand it to leave.

Four Differences Between Confidence and Arrogance Some people think that confidence is pride. You can be confident and be very humble. Pride is confidence in the wrong things. True confidence comes from a solid foundation of knowing who you are in Christ. Look at these four differences between confidence and arrogance and check up on yourself. 1. Confidence is security in who we are in Christ. Arrogance is self-reliance because of what we have, who we know, or what we have done. 2. Confidence is knowing that “we can do all things through Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:13) versus trusting what we can do ourselves. 3. Confidence is knowing our past is forgiven by God and we are in good standing with Him by faith. Arrogance is confidence in our works and our righteousness (Eph 2:8). 4. Confidence is knowing that God is on our side and, therefore, it doesn’t matter who is against us. Arrogance is security from cir-cumstances and our own resourc-es (Rom. 8:31). 5. Be confident because of who you are in Christ Jesus. With Him on your side, you can’t fall.

Five Marks Of A Confident Person Use this as a check to see if you are confident in who you are in Christ. 1. You aren’t afraid to meet new people. 2. You like to try new things and see new places. 3. You aren’t afraid to take calculated risks in order to achieve something you want. 4. You don’t get discouraged and depressed when you fall. In-stead, you pick yourself back up. 5. It doesn’t bother you much when people criticize you.

If all the statements above describe you, you are very confident. If four of the statements are true about you, your confidence is solid and improving.

Three true statements mean you could use some improvement. It’s not look-ing good if only two statements are true; you are limiting yourself from great experiences. If you only found one statement to be true, reread this every day until all the statements are true. Remember, in Christ you are a new creation (2 Cor. 5:17).

Three Musts For Building Real Confidence If you need more confidence in your life, here is a simple game plan that will help you grow. 1. Find your identity in Christ Jesus. If we look to ourselves for confidence, we have many rea-sons to be insecure and disap-pointed. But in Christ, we are amazing. Look up these Scrip-tures: 2 Corinthians 5:17, Philip-pians 4:13; Colossians 1:22; Jude 24; Romans 8:15. 2. Surround yourself with people who believe in you. Small people criticize big dreams. Don’t allow your faith and self-esteem to be robbed by critical and negative people. Surround yourself with people who believe in you. 3. Take small steps to build big victories. We all have things in our lives we are secretly afraid of. Maybe its heights, meeting new people, trying new foods, or shar-ing our faith. Don’t take a leap of faith; take little steps toward over-coming our fears. The Bible says, “The steps of a good man are or-dered by the Lord” (Ps. 37:23).

Build these three steps to con-fidence into your daily routine, and watch your confidence soar.

[in] the least,” he maintains. “I think...the bigger danger is what this tells us in terms of foreign policy more than anything else, because the CPUSA has been very consistently opposed to anything that advances American interests,” says McGuire. The anti-communist activist says if the CPUSA is that happy with Obama, then clearly he is not someone who is willing to ad-vance American interests any-where -- and therefore should not be given the keys to the White House.

Officials in one California county are being sued on behalf of a church that was shut down.

The Guatay Christian Fellow-ship church had leased the recreation center and other buildings at the Pine Valley Trailer Park since 1986. Recently, however, county officials informed the church to stop all re-ligious activities or face legal action. Brad Dacus is president of the Pacific Justice Institute (PJI), which is suing the county. He notes county officials say the church is operat-ing illegally because the property is ac-tually zoned for live entertainment and alcohol sales. “It is a sad day when a local government has the audacity to claim that a church that has been there for 22 years has to pack up their pews and leave, only be-cause it was technically permitted to be a country and western bar,” Dacus con-tends.

During its 22 years on site, the church has taken part in a number of projects to help residents of the trailer park, in-cluding replacing roofs on buildings, installing alarm and sound systems,

and pouring cement for a basketball court. Accord-ing to a PJI press release, the church’s improvement projects have helped other organizations who used it, such as Alcoholics Anony-mous, the Boy Scouts, and even a polling place for the government. After the county threat-ened to turn off the church’s electricity, Pas-

tor Stan Peterson was dumbfounded. “I could see this if we were crooks and hurting people, but we give to missionar-ies in Africa and Mexico,” he said. Dacus adds, “Does the county really think this community is better off with a bar that invites substance abuse than with a church that is changing lives?” He will likely have his answer after the trial ensues.

An anti-communist activist is not surprised that the Communist Party USA has written a glowing

editorial about Barack Obama. The editorial, titled “Eye on the Prize,” was published in the group’s of-ficial newspaper The People’s Weekly World. According to the editorial, “A broad multiclass, multiracial movement is converging around Obama’s ‘Hope, change and unity’ campaign because they see in it the thrilling opportunity to end 30 years of ul-tra-right rule and move the nation forward with a progressive move-ment.” The editorial ended by saying “One thing is clear. None of the people’s struggles -- from peace, to univer-sal healthcare, to an economy that puts Main Street before Wall Street -- will advance if McCain wins in November. Let’s keep our eyes on the prize.” D.J. McGuire is president of the China e-Lobby. “This is the way CPUSA works.
